MSK Premium

So I’ve stayed at MSK Premium a handful of times now, and honestly? It’s one of those places that grows on you. First time I walked up to 30 Inverness Terrace, I’ll admit I was a bit skeptical – the building itself is pretty understated, sort of blends right into the Victorian terrace row. But that’s actually part of its charm, you know? You’re staying in this proper London neighborhood instead of some touristy hotel district.

The location is honestly brilliant once you figure it out. You’re literally a two-minute walk to Bayswater tube station, which means you can be in Oxford Circus in about fifteen minutes. But here’s what I really love – step out the front door and hang a right, and you’ll hit Queensway with all its late-night restaurants and that massive Whiteleys shopping center (well, it’s being renovated now, but still). The other direction takes you straight into Hyde Park, and I mean straight – no busy roads to cross or anything. I’ve done the morning jog through Kensington Gardens more times than I can count, starting right from the hotel lobby.

The rooms themselves are what you’d expect from a solid four-star – nothing fancy, but everything works and it’s clean. The beds are actually pretty comfortable, though the walls can be a bit thin if you get stuck next to a family with kids. Pro tip: request something facing the back if you’re a light sleeper, because Inverness Terrace can get a bit noisy with late-night Ubers dropping people off. The bathrooms are small but functional – I mean, this is London, so you’re not expecting a palace anyway. What I appreciate is that the staff genuinely seems to care. Check-in is usually smooth, and they remember you if you’ve stayed before, which is nice.

The breakfast situation is decent enough, though nothing to write home about. Continental spread with some hot options – gets you going for the day. But honestly, with Borough Market just a tube ride away and all those little cafés along Queensway, you’ve got better options if you’re willing to venture out. The real value here is the neighborhood feel. You’re staying where actual Londoners live and work, not in some sterile hotel zone. I’ve grabbed groceries at the Tesco Express around the corner, had proper fish and chips at that place on Moscow Road (can’t remember the name, but it’s the one with the green awning), and even done laundry at the local laundrette when I was staying for a week.

Look, MSK Premium isn’t going to blow your mind with luxury, but it does exactly what it promises. You get a comfortable base in one of London’s most connected neighborhoods, staff who actually give a damn, and rates that won’t completely destroy your budget. The 7.8 rating feels about right – it’s good, solidly good, without any major surprises either way. If you’re the type who wants to experience London like you actually live there for a few days, rather than just hitting the tourist highlights, this place works really well.
