Hotel Description
Honestly, when I first walked into this JOIVY apartment on Theed Street, I wasn’t expecting much – I mean, it’s tucked away on this quiet residential road that you’d probably miss if you weren’t looking for it. But you know what? That’s actually part of its charm. The moment you step inside, there’s this lovely brightness that hits you, and it genuinely feels like someone’s thoughtfully designed home rather than your typical corporate rental. The two bedrooms are properly sized (not those shoebox situations you sometimes get in London), and the terrace – well, that’s where this place really wins you over. It’s not huge, but it catches the morning sun beautifully, and there’s something really satisfying about having your coffee out there while the city wakes up around you.
The location is honestly brilliant once you get your bearings. Theed Street sits in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to everything but far enough from the tourist chaos that you can actually think straight. The walk to London Eye really is about 15 minutes – I’ve done it plenty of times, and it’s one of those pleasant riverside strolls along the Thames that never gets old. What I love is that you’re literally around the corner from Borough Market (the smells on Saturday mornings are incredible), and you’ve got the Old Vic theatre practically on your doorstep. The area has this lovely mix of locals heading to work and visitors exploring, but it never feels overwhelming like some parts of central London can.
There’s a Tesco Express about three minutes away on Waterloo Road, which sounds mundane but trust me, you’ll appreciate it when you want breakfast supplies or a decent bottle of wine. The apartment itself has everything you actually need – the kitchen’s compact but functional, WiFi works properly (always a gamble in London rentals), and the beds are comfortable enough that you’re not waking up feeling like you’ve been in a wrestling match. I will say the shower pressure could be better, but honestly, that’s pretty standard for London properties, and it’s perfectly fine. The building’s quiet too – you might hear the occasional footstep from upstairs, but nothing that’ll keep you awake. Check-in was smooth, everything was clean and ready, and with a 9.2 rating, you can tell other people have had similarly good experiences. It’s one of those places where you’ll find yourself planning to come back.
