The soundproofing is solid too, which matters because even though this street is quiet, you’re still in central London.

Sussex Gardens is right around the corner with all those Lebanese restaurants (seriously, try Maroush if you haven’t), and you can walk to Hyde Park through streets that feel properly residential. Lancaster Gate tube is closer than Paddington if you’re heading east, though honestly, I found myself walking everywhere because the location just works. The Heathrow Express situation at Paddington is obviously convenient, but what I didn’t expect was how easy it’d be to grab groceries at the Tesco Metro or pop into that little independent bookshop on Praed Street.
