But stepping inside this apartment completely changed my perspective on what a London stay could be like. The space has this perfect balance of elegance and livability that you rarely find in holiday rentals, especially ones that actually deserve their 4-star rating.

What really got me was how thoughtfully everything’s been put together. The living areas feel genuinely luxurious without being stuffy – you know what I mean? Like, you can actually relax on the furniture instead of being afraid to touch anything. The kitchen’s properly equipped too, which matters if you’re staying more than a few nights (and honestly, with Borough Market just a reasonable walk away, you’ll want to cook). The bedrooms are spacious by London standards, and I mean properly spacious, not that “cozy” estate agent nonsense. Plus, the windows are well-sealed, so even though you’re in central London, street noise isn’t really an issue – something I definitely wasn’t expecting on my first night.

The location is where this place really shines, though. Devonshire Place sits right in that sweet spot where you’re close enough to Oxford Street’s chaos when you want it, but tucked away enough that you feel like you’re living in actual London rather than tourist London. Regent’s Park is literally around the corner – perfect for morning runs or just escaping the crowds. And here’s something most visitors don’t realize: you’re walking distance from some of the best gastropubs in Marylebone, plus that whole Fitzrovia area with its brilliant little independent shops. The tube connections are solid too (Bond Street and Regent’s Park stations are both close), but honestly, I found myself walking most places because the neighborhood’s just pleasant to wander through. The 9.7 rating makes complete sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s those little details like having proper hangers in the wardrobes and decent water pressure that push it over the edge from good to genuinely impressive.
