JOIVY Stylish 3 bed mews house with patio in Marylebone

You know what struck me first about this place? It’s tucked away on Dunstable Mews – one of those gorgeous cobblestone streets in Marylebone that feels completely removed from London’s chaos, even though you’re literally minutes from Oxford Street. I mean, the contrast is pretty wild – step out of this quiet little mews and you’re suddenly in the thick of everything.

The house itself is exactly what you’d picture when someone says “London mews house” but actually done right. Three bedrooms spread across this converted period building, and honestly, they’ve nailed the whole stylish-but-livable thing. The patio out back is where I spent most mornings with coffee – it’s not huge, but it’s private and catches the morning sun beautifully. You can hear the city humming in the distance, but it feels like you’re in your own little pocket of calm. The interiors have that contemporary feel without being sterile, if that makes sense. Comfortable beds (always my first test), decent kitchen that actually has everything you need, and the kind of lighting that doesn’t make you look terrible in photos.

What I really love about this spot is how it sits in Marylebone – you’re walking distance from Regent’s Park, which is perfect for morning runs or lazy Sunday afternoons. The Wallace Collection is practically around the corner, and there’s this fantastic little stretch of independent shops and cafes along Marylebone High Street that most tourists miss. Parking’s a bit of a nightmare, as you’d expect in central London, but the transport links are solid – Bond Street tube is close enough that you don’t need to plan your life around it. I found myself walking to most places anyway, which says something about the location. The area gets busy during the day with shoppers, but evenings are surprisingly peaceful. One small thing – the mews can echo a bit when people are wheeling suitcases over the cobblestones, but it’s hardly a dealbreaker. Actually, I sort of enjoyed the sound after a while, very London somehow. With a 9.5 rating, you know other people are having the same experience I did, and that four-star quality really shows in the details they’ve thought through.
