Hotel Description
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from another “modern flat” listing in London, but this place on Queensway actually surprised me. You know what hit me first? The light – these big windows face the right direction so you’re not waking up in a cave, which happens more often than you’d think in London flats. The two bedrooms are properly sized too, not those shoe-box situations where you’re bumping into the wardrobe every time you turn around. I mean, four people could stay here without wanting to murder each other, which is saying something.
The location is honestly pretty brilliant once you figure out the neighborhood rhythm. Queensway itself can feel a bit touristy during the day – there’s always someone dragging a suitcase over those uneven pavements – but duck down any of the side streets and you’re in proper residential London. Westbourne Grove is literally a three-minute walk, and that’s where the good stuff happens. There’s this little café called Ginger & White that does proper coffee (not the chain stuff), and honestly, the morning crowd there feels more like locals heading to work than tourists checking things off lists. Hyde Park is right there too, which sounds obvious from the postcode, but what people don’t realize is you can access the quieter corners – not just the Speaker’s Corner chaos that everyone posts on Instagram.
The flat itself feels like someone actually lives in modern London, not some sterile Airbnb setup. The kitchen has real pots and pans, sharp knives, even decent olive oil in the cupboard. Small things, but when you’re staying somewhere for more than a couple nights, it matters. The shower pressure is solid – and look, I’ve stayed in enough London places where you’re basically getting misted by sad, lukewarm water. Parking is street parking (good luck with that), but you’re so well connected by tube that bringing a car here would be sort of masochistic anyway. Bayswater and Queensway stations are both walkable, and once you’re on the Central line, you can be in Oxford Circus in about ten minutes or Notting Hill in five.
What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. Queensway can be a bit lively in the evenings – there are some late-night restaurants and that big Whiteleys shopping center draws crowds – but this particular street settles down nicely. You might hear the occasional taxi, but nothing like the constant rumble you get closer to the main roads. The building feels solid too, proper old London construction, so you’re not hearing every footstep from upstairs. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that “meet me at the corner with three forms of ID” nonsense. They actually had everything ready and took five minutes to walk through how everything worked, including the trick to getting the front door to close properly (there’s always a trick, isn’t there?). For a four-star place, it delivers without trying too hard to impress you with fancy touches that don’t actually make your stay better.
