Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Casa Peppino? The name honestly had me expecting some kind of quirky Italian joint, but walking into this Soho spot, it’s actually got this really cool modern vibe that somehow works perfectly with the historic Westminster Borough setting. I mean, Soho’s always been this fascinating mix of old London charm and cutting-edge style, and this place gets that balance right. The 4-star rating feels spot-on – it’s polished without being stuffy, and that 8.2 guest rating makes sense once you’ve stayed there.
The location is what really sold me though. Being right in Soho means you’re literally walking distance from some of London’s best restaurants and theaters, but here’s the thing most people don’t realize – the specific streets around here actually quiet down quite a bit after the dinner rush. I was worried about noise (Soho can get pretty lively), but the rooms are surprisingly peaceful, especially if you get one facing the courtyard side. Check-in was smooth – the staff actually knows the neighborhood well enough to give you those insider tips about which pubs to hit and which tourist traps to skip. There’s something refreshing about front desk people who’ve clearly spent time exploring their own area instead of just reading from a script.
What really sets Casa Peppino apart is how it feels like it belongs in Soho rather than just being dropped there. The design has these subtle nods to the area’s creative history without going overboard with the theme hotel thing. The rooms are well-thought-out too – good lighting (which honestly matters more than people think), decent storage space, and bathrooms that don’t require you to be a contortionist. Parking is pretty much what you’d expect in central London – meaning forget about it and embrace the tube – but Westminster station connections are solid from here. I stayed during shoulder season in October and the whole area had this perfect energy level, busy enough to feel alive but not so packed you can’t move on the sidewalks. The breakfast situation is decent, though honestly with Borough Market and all the incredible coffee shops within walking distance, you’ve got better options if you’re willing to venture out five minutes. If you’re looking for that authentic London experience where you can stumble home from a West End show or discover some hidden speakeasy, this place puts you right in the thick of it without the chaos of staying directly on Oxford Street.
