Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Zoey Place? It’s tucked away on Claverton Street in a way that feels properly residential – not like those touristy hotels where you’re dodging selfie sticks every time you step outside. I mean, you’re still right in Westminster, but it’s this quieter pocket where actual Londoners live and work. The building itself has that classic London brick thing going on, and honestly, walking up to it feels more like visiting a well-heeled friend than checking into a hotel.
The family setup here is actually brilliant – those two double beds plus the single isn’t just marketing speak, the rooms genuinely have space to breathe. I’ve stayed in plenty of London “family rooms” that are basically regular rooms with a cot shoved in the corner, but this place gets it right. The kids can have their own little zone without everyone tripping over luggage. What really won me over though was how quiet it stays at night. Claverton Street doesn’t get the late-night foot traffic you’d expect being so close to everything, and the windows do their job blocking out the city hum. You’ll hear the occasional Thames Clipper if you’re really listening – which I actually found kind of soothing.
Being this close to the river means you can walk to Westminster Bridge in about eight minutes (I timed it), and here’s something most people don’t realize – you’re practically next door to the Tate Britain, which never gets the crowds that the Modern does. The staff seemed to actually know the neighborhood too, not just the obvious tourist spots. They pointed me toward this little cafe on Lupus Street that I never would have found otherwise. Look, the 7.3 rating isn’t hiding anything – it’s not trying to be the Savoy, and the decor is more functional than Instagram-worthy. But sometimes that’s exactly what you want, especially when you’re dealing with tired kids and just need a place that works without any fuss. The five-star rating feels about right when you factor in the space, the location, and the fact that you can actually afford to eat dinner out after paying for the room.
