Regent’s Square Serenity – 5ppl Overview

Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of London places over the years, and Regent’s Square Serenity genuinely surprised me. The name’s a bit much, honestly – but you know what? It actually delivers on that serenity promise. The building sits right on this gorgeous Georgian square that most tourists completely miss, tucked between the chaos of Camden Road and the British Museum crowds. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from Russell Square tube, but it feels like you’ve found this secret pocket of old London.

The apartment itself – and it really is more apartment than hotel room – sleeps five people without that usual cramped feeling you get in London accommodation. There’s this lovely sitting area with tall windows that look out onto the square’s garden (you can’t access it, but watching people walk their dogs in the morning with your coffee is surprisingly nice). The kitchen’s actually functional too, which matters when you’re staying more than a couple nights and London restaurant prices start adding up. I appreciated that they didn’t go overboard with fake “boutique” styling – it’s clean, comfortable, with enough character to feel like you’re staying somewhere that belongs in the neighborhood rather than some corporate chain drop-in.

What really sold me on the location was discovering all these little streets that branch off from the square. Marchmont Street has this brilliant collection of cafés and shops that locals use – proper neighborhood spots, not tourist traps. The street market on Saturdays is small but good for produce if you’re planning to use that kitchen. Parking’s typically London awful around here, but honestly, you don’t need a car. The 68 bus stops practically outside and gets you to pretty much anywhere central you’d want to go. Evening noise levels are surprisingly reasonable for the area – you get some street sounds during the day, but by 10 PM things quiet down considerably. Check-in was straightforward, though they do prefer afternoon arrivals which worked fine for me but might be worth knowing if you’re coming straight from Heathrow in the morning. The 8.9 rating makes sense – it’s not trying to be the Savoy, but for the price point and location, it’s exactly what you want: comfortable, clean, well-positioned, and run by people who clearly care about the details that matter.
