Hotel Description
I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to 92 Queensway, I wasn’t expecting much from the outside. The building looks pretty standard for this stretch of Bayswater, but man, was I wrong about what waited inside. This two-bedroom flat actually feels like someone’s stylish London home rather than your typical tourist rental, which is exactly what you want when you’re staying for more than a couple nights.
The location is genuinely brilliant, and I mean that without the usual estate agent exaggeration. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Queensway tube station – I timed it because I’m weird like that – which puts you on the Central line straight into Oxford Circus or out to Notting Hill. But here’s what the booking sites don’t tell you: you’re also walking distance to some of London’s best bits that tourists often miss. There’s this fantastic Lebanese place called Maroush just down the street that’s open until 3am (trust me on this one), and you can cut through to Hyde Park via a little side street that avoids all the Queensway crowds. Speaking of Hyde Park, you’ll probably find yourself there every morning for coffee – there’s something addictive about having one of London’s massive green spaces as your backyard.
The flat itself punches well above its weight for a 4-star rating. The kitchen actually has proper equipment, not those sad hotel kettles and mini-fridges, so you can make real meals if you want to save some cash or just can’t face another pub dinner. The bedrooms are a decent size too – I mean, this is London, so don’t expect sprawling American hotel rooms, but you won’t be climbing over your suitcase to get to the bathroom. What really impressed me was how quiet it stays at night, considering you’re on a fairly busy street. The windows must be double-glazed or something because the buses and late-night Uber pickups just fade into background hum. Though I should mention – if you’re a super light sleeper, maybe pack earplugs anyway. This is central London, after all.
One thing that surprised me was how easy the whole check-in process was. No awkward lobby waiting or hunting down a concierge, just clear instructions and everything worked exactly as described. The WiFi is solid (important if you’re working remotely), and there’s actually decent water pressure in the shower, which honestly feels like winning the London rental lottery. The only minor gripe I’d have is that the living room could use better lighting for evening reading, but that’s me being picky – most people will be out exploring anyway. You know what really sealed it for me though? Walking back after a long day of sightseeing and genuinely feeling like I was coming home rather than returning to just another hotel room. For the price point in this part of London, that’s pretty special.
