The flat itself is honestly a bit of a find, tucked into this quiet garden square that most tourists never stumble across, even though you’re literally a five-minute walk from the madness of Earl’s Court Road.

The space is what really sold me though. I mean, you’ve got two proper bedrooms (not those shoebox affairs you usually get in central London) and both bathrooms are actually usable – the master en-suite has this rainfall shower that I may have spent too much time in. The living area feels surprisingly airy, with these high ceilings that remind you you’re in a proper Victorian building, and the kitchen’s got everything you need if you want to avoid eating out every meal. Which, honestly, sometimes you do when you see London restaurant prices. The owner’s clearly put thought into the details too – there’s actually decent WiFi, the heating works properly (crucial for those damp London mornings), and they’ve managed to make it feel homey without going overboard on the twee British décor.

Here’s what you probably won’t read elsewhere though – the location is absolutely perfect if you want to feel like you live in London rather than just visiting it. Lexham Gardens connects to this whole network of similar garden squares, so your morning coffee walk feels like you’re discovering secret neighborhoods. The Natural History Museum is maybe ten minutes on foot, but more importantly, you’ve got proper local spots nearby. There’s this brilliant little café on Marloes Road that does incredible flat whites, and honestly, the Waitrose on Gloucester Road (I know, I know, but hear me out) becomes your best friend for decent groceries. Plus you’re close enough to Hyde Park that you can actually use it – not just walk through it once for photos.

The transport links are what make this place work for longer stays. Earl’s Court tube is right there, giving you the Piccadilly line straight to Heathrow or into the heart of things, and the District line gets you to Westminster or Tower Bridge without any fuss.
