Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about this place? Walking up Marsham Street, you’re literally surrounded by government buildings – I mean, the Home Office is practically next door – but somehow this apartment feels like a genuine London home, not some sterile corporate crash pad. The address might sound intimidating (Westminster Borough sounds so official), but honestly, it’s just a really solid residential street that happens to be ridiculously well-connected.
The apartment itself is properly nice – I’d say the 4-star rating is spot on, maybe even conservative. It’s got that lived-in quality that makes you feel like you’re staying at a friend’s place rather than some cookie-cutter hotel room. The furnishings are actually thoughtful, not just thrown together, and there’s proper storage space (you’d be surprised how many London places skimp on that). What really gets me is the location though – and I don’t mean in that “convenient location” brochure way. I’m talking about being able to walk to Westminster Bridge in about 8 minutes, which means Big Ben photos without the tourist bus chaos, or cutting through St. James’s Park to reach Buckingham Palace on foot. The London Eye? Well, that’s just across the river, and honestly, the walk along the Thames path is half the fun anyway.
Here’s what I really appreciate – Marsham Street is quiet enough that you’ll actually sleep well (no small feat in central London), but you’re still close enough to Victoria Station that getting anywhere is dead simple. The 8.6 rating makes sense because while everything works and it’s genuinely comfortable, it’s not trying to be some flashy luxury experience. It’s more like… well, exactly what it says it is: a proper apartment that happens to be in one of the best spots in London. The neighborhood has that mix of locals heading to work and tourists figuring out their maps, but it never feels overwhelming. There’s a Tesco Metro around the corner on Horseferry Road – trust me, you’ll use it – and some decent pubs within walking distance if you want to decompress after a day of sightseeing. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I wanted to feel like I was actually living in London for a few days rather than just passing through.
