Hotel Description
Okay, so I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name “Home For All – Fitzrovia – by Frankie Says,” I thought it sounded a bit try-hard. But you know what? After staying there, it actually makes sense. This place really does feel like someone’s stylish London flat that they’ve opened up to travelers, which is exactly what you want in Fitzrovia.
The location is honestly perfect if you’re the type who likes to walk everywhere. You’re literally steps from Charlotte Street (which, if you don’t know, is basically restaurant heaven), and I mean you can pop over to Oxford Street in about three minutes when you need to hit the shops. But here’s the thing – and this surprised me – it doesn’t feel touristy at all. The street it’s on is pretty quiet, especially at night, which is rare for central London. I actually slept really well, even with the windows cracked open. The building itself has that classic Georgian charm you see all over this part of town, but inside they’ve done this really nice modern renovation that doesn’t feel sterile or corporate.
What I loved most was how the staff actually seemed to know the neighborhood. When I asked about good coffee nearby, the guy at reception didn’t just point me to the nearest Starbucks – he sent me to this little place on Goodge Street that locals actually use. The rooms are well-designed too, I mean really thoughtfully laid out. Mine wasn’t huge (this is London, after all), but everything had its place and the bed was genuinely comfortable. The bathroom was one of those compact but clever designs where nothing feels cramped. They’ve got this whole boutique hotel vibe going without the pretentious attitude that sometimes comes with it. Check-in was smooth, no weird upselling or anything like that.
I stayed during a pretty busy week in October and the common areas never felt overcrowded. There’s this nice little spot near the entrance where you can sit with a coffee or glass of wine – nothing fancy, but it works. The whole place just feels authentic, if that makes sense. Like someone actually thought about what travelers need rather than what looks good in photos. Would I stay here again? Absolutely. It’s got that sweet spot of being central enough that you can walk to most things you’d want to see, but tucked away enough that you feel like you’re experiencing real London rather than tourist London. Plus, at this rating and price point, you’re getting solid value for money in an area where that’s pretty hard to find.
