Best Western Buckingham Palace Rd Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Best Western Buckingham Palace Rd on St. Georges Drive, you immediately get that feeling you’re staying somewhere that actually matters in London. I mean, the name pretty much gives it away — you’re literally a stone’s throw from Buckingham Palace, which honestly never gets old. This three-star hotel sits in one of those classic Victorian buildings that makes you feel like you’re part of the city’s story, not just passing through it.
Location That Actually Delivers
Here’s the thing about location — everyone claims theirs is great, but this one actually backs it up with a 9.0 score. You can walk to Victoria Station in about five minutes, which means the rest of London opens up pretty quickly. The Palace is right there (obviously), but what I really appreciated was being able to stroll through St. James’s Park whenever I wanted. You know what’s nice? Having Green Park and Hyde Park as your backyard when you need to escape the city buzz for a bit.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d expect from a well-run Best Western — clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully laid out without any unnecessary frills. The beds are actually good (not just hotel-acceptable), and the windows let in decent light, which matters more than you’d think in London. Sure, it’s not going to win any design awards, but everything works properly, the WiFi is solid, and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped.
Morning Fuel
Breakfast here is one of those continental buffet setups that hits the sweet spot between variety and quality. They’ve got the usual suspects — pastries, cereals, fruit — but also some hot options that’ll actually fuel you for a day of walking around London. I found myself grabbing coffee and pastries some mornings, then going full English on others when I knew I’d be out exploring for hours. The restaurant area gets busy around 8 AM, so either go early or embrace the social energy of fellow travelers planning their day.
Why Guests Love It
What really makes this place work is how it balances being properly located without the insane price tag of the fancy hotels nearby. Couples especially seem to get it — there’s something romantic about being able to walk to Westminster, pop over to Covent Garden for dinner, or just wander through royal London without dealing with tube delays. The staff knows the neighborhood well enough to point you toward the good stuff, and there’s decent parking if you’re brave enough to drive in central London. It’s one of those hotels that doesn’t try to be everything to everyone — it just does the location thing really, really well.

Able to check in early for a nominal fee… a great bonus as it is always a problem when many international flights are overnight and you arrive early morning and have to wait often until 3pm to check in. Believe me you do not feel like sightseeing or shopping after a long overnight flight..you feel like death warmed up until u can have a rest, take a shower. Not many hotels offer an early check in, even with an additional charge so kudos to this hotel and management!
