The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was compact — and I mean really compact — but cleverly designed. Point A has this whole concept about maximizing small spaces, and it actually works. The bed was comfortable, the shower had proper pressure (you know how hit-or-miss that can be in London), and there’s this nifty little desk area that folds out from the wall. The windows are big enough that you don’t feel claustrophobic, though the view depends entirely on which side of the building you’re on.

The breakfast setup surprised me — it’s a proper buffet with way more options than you’d expect from a three-star place. They’ve got the usual continental stuff, but also hot items, and they’re really good about dietary requirements. I saw vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options clearly marked, which is thoughtful. There’s no full restaurant, but honestly, you’re surrounded by so many great eating options that it doesn’t matter. Borough Market is a short bus ride away, and there are some excellent Indian places on nearby Drummond Street.

What really makes this place work is that it doesn’t try to be something it’s not. The staff are genuinely helpful — they know the area well and give solid recommendations. The hotel attracts a good mix of business travelers and tourists, so there’s always a bit of energy in the lobby. Parking is available if you’re driving, though I can’t imagine why you’d want to drive in central London. Couples seem to particularly love staying here (the location scores consistently high with them), and I get it — you can easily walk to Covent Garden for dinner, catch a show in the West End, then hop on the Tube back without any hassle. It’s one of those places where the location does most of the heavy lifting, but the hotel itself doesn’t let the side down.
