George Hotel Overview

First Impressions

The George Hotel sits on a lovely Georgian crescent in London‘s Bloomsbury area, and honestly, the location alone makes this three-star property worth considering. I mean, you’re literally in one of those picture-perfect garden squares that tourists spend ages trying to find — except here, you’re staying right on it. The building itself has that classic London townhouse charm, though don’t expect anything too fancy inside. It’s comfortable and clean, which is exactly what you want when you’re spending most of your time exploring the city anyway.

The Bloomsbury Advantage

What I love about staying here is how perfectly positioned you are for everything. You’re a five-minute walk to Russell Square tube station, which puts you on the Piccadilly line straight to Heathrow — super handy when you’re dragging luggage. The British Museum is practically around the corner, and you can easily walk to Covent Garden or Oxford Street when the mood strikes. Plus, there’s something really nice about coming back to this quiet residential street after a day of tourist chaos. The garden square in front gives the whole area this peaceful, almost village-like feel that you don’t get in busier parts of central London.

Room Comfort

The room I stayed in was compact but thoughtfully arranged — you know, typical London hotel size but they’ve made good use of the space. The bed was actually quite comfortable, and I appreciated having a proper desk area for planning the next day’s adventures. The bathroom was small but functional, with decent water pressure (always a concern in older London buildings). Don’t expect premium touches, but everything works well and feels fresh. The windows face either the garden square or the quiet street, so you’re not dealing with traffic noise at night.

Breakfast Worth Waking Up For

I’ll be honest — I wasn’t expecting much from breakfast at a three-star place, but the George Hotel actually surprised me here. They do a proper full English that hits the spot, but what impressed me more was how well they handle dietary requirements. Whether you’re vegetarian, vegan, or need gluten-free options, they’ve got you covered without making it feel like an afterthought. The buffet setup means you can grab something quick if you’re rushing off to catch a morning tour, or sit and plan your day over a leisurely meal.

Why Guests Love It

The location really is the star here — couples especially seem to appreciate how romantic and quintessentially London the setting feels, which makes sense given that 9.4 rating for two-person trips. You’re staying somewhere that feels authentically local rather than touristy, but you can still walk to major attractions without breaking a sweat. For the price point, you’re getting solid comfort in one of the best neighborhoods in central London. It’s not going to wow you with fancy amenities, but it delivers exactly what most travelers actually need: a clean, comfortable base in an absolutely brilliant location that doesn’t break the budget.

Reviews of George Hotel

  • Satoko from United Kingdom (8/10)

Although the room is small it is refurbished very nicely and everything I need is there.

  • Holly from United Kingdom (8/10)

The hotel was very clean and obviously recently refurbished. The outside of the building is lovely. It was very close to walk to Euston station and the Crescent it is on is very beautiful with a lovely small park next to it. My room was upgraded on arrival which was a nice surprise as I had lots of space – which I didn't expect in London! The TV was large and in working order. The bathroom was clean and finished to a high standard. Breakfast was reasonable with hot and cold options which were mostly fine.

  • Julia from United Kingdom (8/10)

Location & cozy & lovely staff

  • Jack from United Kingdom (8/10)

Easy to find, good location, close to Euston, friendly staff, quiet room, very small and basic but everything you need for a night or two base in London. We pretty much showered and slept and left so not a huge use. We were on the ground floor and I feared it would be noisy but it was fine.

  • Pauline from France (6/10)

The location is very convenient, a few minutes from St Pancras and many public transports. Perfect for a short time in London

  • Robert from United Kingdom (7/10)

Breakfast was good. Comfortable room but disappointed I had to upgrade from single room as the single bed is far too small for an adult man.

  • Elitsa from Bulgaria (7/10)

Excellent location, both from Heathrow airport and to go around the city. Warm and tasty breakfast, nice staff, daily cleaning of the room.

  • Elen from Greece (8/10)

Very cosy room, friendly staff, convenient location

  • Kkelli from United Kingdom (8/10)

Breakfast was really good, liked that it was a buffet as meant we could pick and choose what we wanted each morning. Also a good selection of things to choose from. Rooms and bathroom were also really clean.
