Sussex Gardens runs parallel to the main drag, so you get easy access to everything without the constant noise. Paddington Station is literally a few minutes’ walk away, which means the Heathrow Express is right there (trust me, this matters when you’re dragging luggage). Hyde Park is close enough for morning jogs, and you can actually walk to Oxford Street if you don’t mind a pleasant 15-minute stroll through some lovely neighborhoods.

The Room Experience

My room was exactly what you’d expect from a well-maintained London hotel — not huge, but thoughtfully laid out with everything you actually need. The bed was comfortable, and I mean properly comfortable, not just hotel-marketing comfortable. What struck me was how quiet it was considering we’re in central London — the windows do a decent job of keeping street noise out. The bathroom was compact but functional, with good water pressure (which, let’s be honest, can be hit or miss in older London buildings).

Breakfast & Dining

The breakfast setup here is actually pretty impressive for a three-star place. They’ve got the full spread — continental options, proper full English breakfast, and it’s served buffet-style so you can take your time. I particularly appreciated that they don’t rush you out, and the coffee is better than I expected. There’s no fancy restaurant for dinner, but honestly, you’re in London — some of the city’s best pubs and eateries are within walking distance, so why would you want to eat in your hotel anyway?
