The Room Experience

Look, this is a three-star hotel, so don’t expect marble bathrooms or Egyptian cotton sheets. What you get is a clean, comfortable room that feels more like staying at a well-kept B&B than a corporate chain. The beds are actually decent — I slept well, which isn’t always a given in London hotels at this price point. The windows open properly (thank goodness), and if you’re lucky enough to get a front-facing room, you’ll have a nice view of the garden square across the street.

Practical Perks

One thing that surprised me — they have private parking available, which is basically gold dust in central London. I mean, you’ll pay for it, but just having the option is huge if you’re driving in. The WiFi works throughout the building, and there’s a small breakfast area where you can grab coffee and toast in the morning. It’s nothing fancy, but it does the job and saves you from hunting down an overpriced café before you’ve had your first cup of coffee.

This place works because it gets the fundamentals right without trying to be something it’s not. You’re paying for location and comfort, not fancy amenities or a rooftop bar.   Location was great, close to Paddington Station for access everywhere, Hyde Park, we walked all over from here. More than adequate breakfast to fuel up for the day. Friendly and helpful staff, who even popped my croissant into the microwave.
  This will become our ‘go to’ accommodation in London.
