Comfort Inn Edgware Road W2 Overview
First Impressions
The Comfort Inn Edgware Road W2 sits right on one of London’s busiest thoroughfares, and honestly, that’s both its charm and its challenge. When I first walked up to this three-star property, I wasn’t expecting anything fancy — but you know what struck me? The staff actually seemed to care about getting you sorted quickly, which matters when you’ve been dragging luggage through the Tube. It’s the kind of place where you realize pretty quickly that location matters, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.
The Neighborhood Reality
Edgware Road is… well, it’s an experience. You’ve got Lebanese restaurant next to budget phone shops, and the whole street buzzes with this mix of tourists heading to Paddington and locals who’ve been here for decades. I mean, you’re literally a ten-minute walk from Hyde Park, which is brilliant for morning runs or just escaping the city noise. The Tube connections are what really make this spot work though — Paddington Station is right there, so you can be at Heathrow in 15 minutes or central London in about the same time.
The Room Experience
My room was smaller than I’d hoped but bigger than I’d feared, if that makes sense. The bed was actually comfortable (not always a given at this price point), and the shower had proper water pressure — honestly, after a day of walking around London, that’s all I really cared about. The windows face the main road, so there’s some traffic noise, but nothing that decent earplugs can’t handle. What I appreciated was that everything worked — the Wi-Fi, the heating, the TV — sometimes the simple stuff is what matters most.
Breakfast and Practical Bits
The continental breakfast setup is pretty standard — think pastries, cereals, coffee that does the job. It’s not going to win any awards, but it’ll fuel you for a day of sightseeing without breaking the bank. The buffet runs until about 9:30, which gives you some flexibility if you’re not an early riser. There’s no on-site parking (this is central London, after all), but the public transport links mean you really don’t need a car anyway.
Why Guests Love It
Here’s the thing about this place — couples seem to really get it, rating the location particularly high, and I can see why. You’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough from the tourist chaos of Oxford Street to actually get some sleep. The price point makes sense for what you get, especially when you factor in how much you’ll save on transport costs. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, and there’s something refreshing about that honesty in a city full of overpriced boutique hotels that promise the world and deliver Instagram-worthy lobbies with matchbox rooms.
To book a hotel in London during Wimbledon, visitors plan ahead to balance lawn-side matches with Thames sunset walks.

The room was recently refurbished, very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Bathroom a small but clean and again everything worked. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful.
Soo from Estonia (8/10)
The hotel staff was very kind and although the neighbourhood made us a little worried about safety there were absolutely no problems throughout the week. The room had basic things – a kettle, tea/coffee, safe, tv and it was regurarly cleaned. The bed was very comfy but a little too short for us tall scandinavians. Breakfast was nothing too special but had all the neccessary things. We loved that the bus stop was right across the road and the metro only about a 5min walk. So it was fairly easy going anywhere we wanted. The breakfast was optional every day (10£ per person).
Would reccomend it to anyone who doesn't want to pay too much but still wants a fairly good place to stay.Ivana from United Kingdom (7/10)
We were overall content with our stay at this hotel. The facilities, service, and cleanliness met our expectations, and the location was ideal. However, we were a bit disappointed that the photos online didn't fully reflect the reality—though we likely would have booked here regardless, as it suited our needs.
