Leonardo Hotel London Croydon Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Leonardo Hotel London Croydon on Wellesley Road, you immediately get that feeling of “okay, this place knows what it’s doing.” The lobby has this clean, contemporary vibe that’s polished without being stuffy — honestly, it’s the kind of place where you can tell they’ve put thought into the details. The staff actually seem to remember faces here, which makes sense when you learn that loads of guests keep coming back. I mean, there’s something to be said for a hotel that builds that kind of loyalty.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s the thing about Croydon — people either love it or don’t really know it, but this four-star hotel sits in one of the better spots. You’re close enough to central London that the commute doesn’t feel like a trek, but far enough out that you’re not paying those insane Zone 1 prices for everything. Couples especially seem to get it — they’ve rated the location really highly, and I can see why. There’s actual parking here (which, let’s be honest, is gold dust in London), and you’ve got decent shops and cafes within walking distance.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d expect from Leonardo — thoughtfully designed without any unnecessary fuss. The bed was properly comfortable, not just hotel-comfortable, and the bathroom actually had decent water pressure. You know what I appreciated? The little touches like having enough plug sockets near the bed and blackout curtains that actually work. It’s those practical things that make you realize you’re dealing with people who understand what travelers actually need, not just what looks good in photos.
Breakfast & Dining
The breakfast setup here is honestly one of the better hotel spreads I’ve encountered. They do both the full English and a proper buffet, so whether you want to load up on bacon and eggs or keep things lighter with pastries and fruit, you’re sorted. The restaurant area gets busy around 8 AM — that’s when all the business travelers descend — but if you can get there a bit earlier or later, it’s actually quite pleasant. The coffee’s decent too, which isn’t always a given at hotel breakfast buffets.
Why Guests Love It
What really strikes me about this place is how it manages to feel both professional and welcoming. The fact that so many people choose to stay here repeatedly tells you something — it’s not just about the location (though that helps), it’s about getting the fundamentals right consistently. You’re not going to get any nasty surprises here, but you’re also not going to feel like you’re staying in some soulless chain hotel. It’s that sweet spot where everything just works the way it should, which honestly, is exactly what you want when you’re traveling.

Reviews of Leonardo Hotel London Croydon
Margaret from Canada (9/10)
The hotel was very clean and smelled great! There was a bar and restaurant. The room was spacious with crisp white linens. The staff was amazing and sooo friendly. No questions or requests were too much. Everyone had a great smiling face.
It was a 20min train ride from Gatwick airport and 20-30 minutes to London Victoria station. Very convenient. If you wanted shoos they were across the road. Stores upon stores and a shopping centre/mall. Plenty of grocery stores very close by.
A big shout out and thank you to an amazing and excellent service oriented Scottish gentleman ( sorry wrote his name down but lost the paper) was a pleasure every time he made me coffee in the morning. Had a few great conversations with him and it’s not often I meet someone who is authentic and seems to love what they do. He should be congratulated on his work ethic!Shahab from Switzerland (8/10)
