Finsbury Park Studios Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Finsbury Park Studios on a quiet stretch of Finsbury Park Road, you might wonder if you’ve got the right address — it’s tucked away in a residential area that feels refreshingly removed from central London‘s tourist chaos. This four-star property has that understated charm that couples seem to absolutely love (and honestly, I can see why). The building itself has character without trying too hard, and there’s something immediately welcoming about the whole setup that puts you at ease.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s what I really appreciate about this spot — you’re in Islington, which means you get that authentic London neighborhood vibe without sacrificing accessibility. Finsbury Park tube station is just a short walk away, putting you on the Piccadilly and Victoria lines, so getting into central London is actually pretty straightforward. The area around here has this lovely mix of local cafes, proper pubs, and green spaces that most tourists never discover. You know what’s great? You can grab groceries at the nearby shops or just wander through the actual Finsbury Park when you need a break from sightseeing.

The Studios

The room I stayed in was more like a compact apartment than a traditional hotel setup — which explains the “Studios” part of the name. Each unit comes with a proper kitchenette that’s actually functional (not just for show), complete with a fridge, microwave, and basic cooking essentials. I mean, it’s not going to win any design awards, but everything works well and feels thoughtfully arranged. The bed was comfortable, the shower had decent pressure, and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped.

Practical Perks

What really sold me on this place was how well it works for longer stays or when you just want some independence. Having that kitchen means you can store leftovers, make morning coffee without hunting for a cafe, or even cook a simple meal if you’re tired of eating out. The Wi-Fi is reliable (crucial for staying connected), and I noticed they’ve got parking available — which, if you know London, is basically like finding gold. The staff were helpful without being overly formal, and check-in was refreshingly smooth.

Why Guests Love It

This place has earned its 8.3 rating because it delivers on what matters most — comfort, location, and value. Couples particularly seem drawn to the intimate, residential feel and the fact that you’re staying somewhere that feels more like a local hideaway than a tourist hotel. You’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough from the crowds to actually relax. Plus, with recent guests consistently praising the location, you know you’re not just getting lucky with a good experience. It’s the kind of place where you can imagine settling in for a few days and actually feeling at home in London.

London hotels keep guests close to gallery quarters, Michelin markets, and tube connections.

The experience was all that I needed and the apartment was fitted out with all the essentials, and was clean and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom bright and clean. Communication with the host was immediate and efficient. The outdoor space behind the property was a bonus too (especially since the apples were in season – we scrumped a few!) and it was surprisingly peaceful and bright given its proximity to the links and shops of Finsbury Park. It was nice to be near the large Park as well. Nice lamp on the bedside which made for a nice ambience.
