Marygreen Manor Overview
First Impressions
Honestly, Marygreen Manor caught me off guard in the best way possible. You’re driving down London Road in Brentwood, and suddenly there’s this gorgeous Tudor-style manor that looks like it stepped out of a period drama. The four-star property has this timeless elegance that makes you forget you’re just 30 minutes from central London by train. I mean, the building itself tells a story — you can see it’s been lovingly maintained while being thoughtfully updated for modern travelers.
Location & Getting Around
What I love about this spot is how it gives you the best of both worlds. You’re in Brentwood, which honestly feels like a proper English town rather than just another London suburb, but the train station is close enough that you can be in Liverpool Street in half an hour. The couples who stay here absolutely rave about the location — and I get it. There’s something romantic about retreating to this peaceful manor after a day exploring the city. Plus, you’ve got free private parking right on-site, which is honestly a godsend if you’re driving anywhere in this part of England.
The Room Experience
Let me tell you about the beds — they’re seriously something special. I’ve stayed in plenty of places, but the sleep quality here is exceptional, and apparently I’m not the only one who thinks so. The room I had felt like stepping into a country house, with period features that actually work rather than just looking pretty. The attention to detail is what gets me — thick curtains that actually block out light, proper bedside lighting for reading, and bathrooms that feel spacious without being cavernous.
Breakfast & Dining
The breakfast setup here is actually impressive — they’ve got everything from a full English to vegan options, plus gluten-free choices that don’t feel like an afterthought. It’s served buffet-style, which I know some people worry about, but they keep everything fresh and well-stocked. You know what I particularly appreciated? They understand that not everyone wants the same thing in the morning, so whether you’re after just continental basics or the full works, you’re sorted.
Why Guests Love It
There’s something about Marygreen Manor that keeps people coming back — literally. The repeat guest rate here is higher than most places I’ve encountered, and after staying here, I totally understand why. It’s that rare combination of feeling special without being stuffy, comfortable without being generic. The staff seem to genuinely care about getting the details right, from the quality of the linens to remembering your coffee preference. For couples especially, this place hits that sweet spot of being romantic and peaceful while still keeping you connected to everything you might want to do in the area.
Hotel in London reservations climb before fashion weeks when townhouse lobbies fill with designers.

We have stayed at the Mary Green numerous times and is our favourite local hotel. Mostly Christmas get togethers but this time moving house a respite for a few nights. Quiet friendly and welcoming.

This is an old property which was refurbished many moons ago to a very high standard. Whilst a bit old fashioned now, the original quality still stands the test of time. It's warm, cosy and comfortable. Our twin room had a bath with shower so we were happy!
