The London EDITION Overview
First Impressions
Walking into The London EDITION on Berners Street feels like discovering one of those perfectly kept secrets that London does so well. This five-star property sits right in the heart of Fitzrovia, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better — you’re literally steps from Oxford Street’s shopping madness, but tucked away on a quieter street that feels refreshingly civilized. The lobby has this understated elegance that Ian Schrager hotels are known for, with dark wood and moody lighting that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled into an exclusive members’ club.
The Neighborhood Advantage
What I love about this spot is how it puts you right in the thick of things without the tourist chaos. You can walk to the British Museum in about ten minutes, hit up the trendy restaurants on Charlotte Street, or duck into one of the proper pubs on Goodge Street. The Tube stations at Goodge Street and Oxford Circus are both close by, which means you’re never more than a quick ride from anywhere you want to be. Couples especially seem to get this — they consistently rate the location around 9.3, and I mean, I get it.
The Room Experience
The rooms here are something else — they’ve got this sleek, minimalist thing going on that actually works. Everything feels custom-designed, from the built-in wardrobes to the way the lighting creates these perfect little reading nooks. The beds are genuinely fantastic (guests rave about them for good reason), and the bathrooms have these deep soaking tubs that make you want to extend your stay. What really impressed me was the attention to detail — proper blackout curtains, USB ports exactly where you need them, and a room layout that doesn’t waste a single inch of space.
Dining and Social Spaces
The breakfast situation is solid — you can go full English if you’re feeling traditional, or stick with the continental spread if you prefer something lighter. The restaurant downstairs, Berners Tavern, is actually a destination in its own right, with this stunning dining room covered floor-to-ceiling in gilt-framed paintings. It’s the kind of place where you’ll spot London’s creative types having long lunches and business deals happening over dinner. The bar gets properly busy in the evenings, and there’s something about the atmosphere that makes even a Tuesday night feel special.
Why Guests Love It
Here’s the thing about The London EDITION — it’s got this repeat guest thing figured out better than most places. People come back because it strikes that perfect balance between luxury and livability. You’re not dealing with stuffy formality, but you’re also not sacrificing quality or service. The staff actually remember your preferences, the location score of 9.4 speaks for itself, and there’s something about the whole experience that feels authentically London rather than generically international. Whether you’re here for business meetings in Mayfair or weekend gallery hopping in Bloomsbury, this place just works.
The concierge service in London arranges private palace salons, bespoke Savile Row fittings, and river yachts at twilight.

Andrew from United States (9/10)
The hotel is beautiful, simple, elegant. Fun lobby with pool table and lively activity, but not loud or obnoxious in any way. Classy. The staff was very accommodating and the manager really helped me out and showed grace in a misunderstanding. He was able to refund a charge that was unexpected. The rooms also very nice, with lots of room and attention to detail.
