The Prince Akatoki London Overview
First Impressions
Walking into The Prince Akatoki London feels like discovering a well-kept secret in the middle of London’s busiest district. This five-star boutique hotel sits on Great Cumberland Place, just steps from Marble Arch, and honestly — the location couldn’t be better. You’re literally in the heart of everything, with Hyde Park across the street and Oxford Street’s shopping madness a two-minute walk away. The lobby has this understated Japanese elegance that immediately sets it apart from the typical grand London hotels.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was surprisingly spacious for central London standards, and you know what really impressed me? The attention to detail. Everything from the lighting to the way they’ve arranged the furniture feels intentional — there’s this calm, zen-like quality that actually helps you unwind after a day of sightseeing. The beds here are genuinely exceptional (and I’m pretty picky about mattresses), which explains why couples rate this place so highly for romantic getaways. The bathrooms are sleek and modern, with those little luxury touches that make you feel pampered without being over the top.
Dining That Actually Delivers
I’ll be honest — hotel food usually disappoints me, but the restaurant here is different. The breakfast spread is impressive, covering everything from a proper Full English to Asian options and plenty of vegetarian and vegan choices. What I really appreciated was how they’ve managed to blend Japanese culinary principles with British classics. The quality is consistently high, and you can tell they source good ingredients. It’s the kind of place where you might actually choose to eat dinner even if you weren’t staying here.
Location Perks
Being right by Marble Arch means you’re connected to everything — the Tube station is practically next door, and you can walk to Selfridges in about five minutes. Hyde Park becomes your backyard, which is perfect for morning runs or evening strolls. I loved how you could escape into the park when the city felt overwhelming, then pop back out for shopping or theater. The neighborhood has that perfect mix of residential calm and urban energy, and there are some excellent pubs and cafes tucked away on the side streets that most tourists never find.
Why Guests Love It
What strikes me most about this hotel is how many people return — and after staying here, I get it. It’s not trying to be the flashiest or most Instagram-worthy place in London, but it delivers on the things that actually matter: comfort, service, and a genuine sense of hospitality. The staff remember your preferences, the luxury feels authentic rather than showy, and the whole experience just works smoothly. For couples especially, there’s something romantic about the intimate scale and sophisticated atmosphere. You’re paying premium prices, sure, but you’re getting that rare combination of prime location, quality service, and a hotel that feels more like a refined retreat than a busy tourist hub.

This is, without a doubt, the cleanest and tidiest hotel I have ever stayed in. It truly embodies Japanese culture, with exceptional attention to every little detail. The rooms are cleaned twice a day, but you can request additional cleaning if you wish. They even clean the TV remote and place it in a pristine little box.. such thoughtful care is unmatched.
The food is outstanding, offering not only authentic Japanese dishes but also a variety of international options for those who may not be familiar with Japanese cuisine.
The rooms are perfectly quiet and kept at an ideal temperature, creating a peaceful haven for relaxation. One of the most thoughtful touches is their nightly turndown service. If you go out before bedtime, you’ll return to a beautifully made bed with soft, relaxing music, gentle lighting, and calming pillow scents to help you unwind.
The staff are simply fantastic. Always so helpful and friendly, with warm smiles that make your stay even more enjoyable. They go above and beyond to ensure everything is perfect. I highly recommend this hotel for an unforgettable experience!
