1 Bedroom Baker Street Central Apartment

You know what? I was honestly a bit skeptical when I first saw this place listed as a “Baker Street” apartment – turns out it’s actually on Paddington Street, which is way better if you ask me. Baker Street itself can be a bit touristy and hectic, but Paddington Street is this lovely tree-lined stretch that feels properly residential while still being smack in the middle of everything. The apartment sits in one of those classic Georgian terraces at number 39A, and I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from the actual Baker Street tube station, so the location thing works out perfectly anyway.

The space itself is what I’d call properly London – not huge, but cleverly designed so it doesn’t feel cramped. The bedroom’s got this nice big window that looks out onto the street, and honestly, I was worried about noise being right in central London, but Paddington Street is surprisingly quiet, especially in the evenings. The kitchen’s small but functional (you can actually cook a proper meal, unlike some places), and there’s a little dining nook that’s perfect for morning coffee while you figure out your day. What really got me was the attention to detail – decent WiFi, proper blackout curtains, and they’ve got the heating sorted, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many London rentals get that wrong. The bathroom’s compact but modern, with good water pressure, which is honestly half the battle in older London buildings.

Here’s the thing that makes this place special though – you’re positioned perfectly between Marylebone High Street and the Regent’s Park area. I’d walk up to Marylebone High Street most mornings for coffee (there’s this brilliant little bakery called Paul that does proper croissants), and it’s about a five-minute stroll through some genuinely pretty residential streets. If you head the other way toward Baker Street station, you’ve got all your practical stuff – M&S, Boots, couple of decent pubs. And Regent’s Park is right there when you need green space, which in London, you always do. The Wallace Collection is practically around the corner too, if you’re into that sort of thing. I stayed for a week in October and found myself just wandering the neighborhood most evenings – it’s got that perfect London village feel despite being Zone 1. Only minor gripe is that the building doesn’t have a lift, so if you’re hauling heavy luggage up to the apartment, just be prepared for that. But honestly, for the location and the quality of the space, it’s pretty fantastic value. The hosts were responsive when I had a question about the heating, and check-in was smooth. I’d definitely book it again.
