Arch Hotel Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Arch Hotel on Pemberton Gardens, you immediately get the sense that this place knows what it’s doing. It’s one of those four-star properties that doesn’t try too hard — the kind where you notice the thoughtful details rather than flashy gestures. The building itself has that classic London charm, tucked away in Islington where you’re close enough to everything but not drowning in tourist crowds. This boutique property strikes a balance between comfort and character that appeals to discerning travelers.

Location & Neighborhood

Honestly, the location here is pretty brilliant. Islington has this perfect balance — you’ve got the energy of North London without feeling like you’re stuck in the chaos of Zone 1. Couples consistently rate this spot 8.4 out of 10, and it’s easy to understand why. You can actually walk to some fantastic gastropubs and independent shops, plus the transport links are solid when you want to head into central London. There’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that feels like a real neighborhood rather than a tourist bubble. The area offers excellent access to cultural attractions, markets, and dining venues.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in had that understated elegance that four-star places do well when they’re not trying to be five-star palaces. Clean lines, comfortable bed, and — this matters more than you’d think — proper blackout curtains that actually work. You know what impressed me? The little things, like having enough outlets near the bed and a shower with decent water pressure. It’s not revolutionary, but it’s exactly what you want after a long day exploring the city. The thoughtful design extends to storage space and modern amenities throughout.

Practical Perks

Here’s something you don’t always find in London — they’ve got parking on site. If you’re driving in the city (brave soul), this is actually a huge deal. But what really caught my attention is how many repeat guests this place gets. You can sort of sense it in the atmosphere; there’s this comfortable familiarity, like the staff genuinely recognize people and remember preferences. That doesn’t happen by accident — it usually means they’re doing something right consistently. The hotel also offers reliable Wi-Fi and a well-maintained reception area.

Why Guests Love It

The Arch Hotel works because it doesn’t oversell itself. Recent guests have rated the location 8.5 out of 10, and honestly, that tracks with my experience. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’ve discovered something rather than just booked a standard hotel room. The combination of being in a proper London neighborhood, having those practical amenities sorted, and that sense of returning somewhere familiar — well, it explains why people keep coming back. Sometimes the best recommendation is simply that a place feels right. Whether you’re visiting for business or leisure, this hotel delivers genuine hospitality.

Their appeared to have been a previous leak on the floor in the kitchen as the floor & skirting was swollen.
The shower handle was broken & the fridge wasn't working.

    But very comfy & Quiet.

  • Hannamol from United Kingdom (6/10)

I like the property but they will charge 20 pounds each day for the parking which was not mentioned while booking that’s taken 40 pounds for two days otherwise good staff and clean

    Lovely building, quiet and clean

  • Lomels from Italy (8/10)

Very good position, 5mins walk from 2 metro lines, room was big enough for 4 people

  • Sara from United Kingdom (8/10)

The staff were all very helpful, friendly and welcoming. The room was nice enough and bed was comfy. A good place to stay if all you need is a bed and shower and are out and about the rest of the time. It's cheap and cheerful so you get what you pay for really. Location is easy to get to as it's close to the tubes and there are plenty of shops and restaurants surrounding. Was my first time in London and if I come back I wouldn't mind staying here again 🙂
