Best Western Plus Delmere Hotel Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to the Best Western Plus Delmere Hotel on Sussex Gardens, you immediately get that classic London townhouse vibe — but with a modern twist that actually works. The building has this elegant Victorian facade that fits perfectly into the London streetscape, and honestly, you’d never guess it’s a three-star property from the outside. The entrance feels welcoming without being overly fancy, which I appreciate when you’re dragging luggage after a long flight.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s what I love about this spot in Westminster Borough — you’re literally a five-minute walk from Paddington Station, which means the Heathrow Express drops you practically at the hotel’s doorstep. But more importantly, you can walk to Hyde Park in about three minutes, and I mean actually walk, not that “walking distance” nonsense some hotels claim. The area around Sussex Gardens is surprisingly quiet for central London, yet you’re close enough to Oxford Street that you can easily pop over for shopping or dining. Couples seem to get this location thing right — they consistently rate it over 9 out of 10, and I can see why.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was compact but thoughtfully designed — you know how London hotels can feel cramped, but this one maximizes every inch without making you feel claustrophobic. The bed was genuinely comfortable (not just hotel-speak comfortable), and the bathroom, while not huge, had good water pressure and modern fixtures. What struck me was the attention to detail — proper blackout curtains, enough electrical outlets, and a work desk that’s actually usable if you need to get some business done.
Breakfast and Practical Perks
The breakfast setup here is better than you’d expect from a three-star property — they do both continental and buffet options, and the quality is solid. I’m talking fresh pastries, decent coffee, and a good selection of hot items that aren’t sitting under heat lamps looking sad. What really sets this place apart though is the private parking — if you’re driving in London (brave soul), having guaranteed parking at the hotel is worth its weight in gold. Most places in this area either don’t have it or charge astronomical rates.
Why Guests Love It
Recent guests have been rating this place 9.4 for location, and after staying here, I get it completely. It’s that sweet spot where you’re in the heart of everything but not drowning in tourist chaos. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay work — they’re helpful without being pushy, and they know the neighborhood well enough to give you actual useful recommendations. For the price point and the location, you’re getting solid value without any unpleasant surprises, which honestly is sometimes all you want from a London hotel.

The room was very small but very well appointed, and the space available was put to good use. I appreciated the in-room tea and coffee facilities, and the smart controls for the room were useful. The bathroom was clean and well equipped, and the shower was hot and powerful. There were plenty of power outlets in the room, and adequate provision of hanging space for clothes for a short stay.
