Best Western Swiss Cottage Hotel Overview
First Impressions
The Best Western Swiss Cottage Hotel sits on a quiet residential street in London‘s Swiss Cottage neighborhood, and honestly, you’d almost miss it if you weren’t looking. It’s tucked away on Adamson Road in a converted Victorian building that feels more like a well-kept townhouse than your typical hotel. I mean, this is exactly what you want from a three-star property — no pretense, just solid comfort in one of the city’s most underrated areas.
Location & Neighborhood
Swiss Cottage is one of those London neighborhoods that locals love but tourists often overlook, which actually works in your favor. You’re a quick tube ride from central London (the Swiss Cottage station is literally a five-minute walk), but the area itself has this lovely residential feel with tree-lined streets and proper neighborhood pubs. There’s a Waitrose around the corner for snacks, and the Hampstead Heath is close enough for morning jogs if that’s your thing. Couples seem to really get this location — I can see why they rate it so highly for romantic getaways.
The Room Experience
The rooms here are what I’d call “thoughtfully simple” — clean lines, decent space for London standards, and everything you actually need without unnecessary frills. Each room has that classic British hotel feel with modern updates that work well together. The beds are genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms are compact but functional. You know what impressed me most? The attention to small details — proper reading lights, enough outlets for your devices, and blackout curtains that actually block out light.
Breakfast & Dining
The breakfast situation here is honestly better than it needs to be for a three-star place. They do both continental and full English options, and the full English is proper — none of that sad, lukewarm buffet nonsense you sometimes get. The restaurant area is cozy rather than grand, but the staff clearly takes pride in getting the morning meal right. I watched them actually cook eggs to order, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many places can’t manage that.
Why Guests Love It
There’s something to be said for a hotel that does the basics exceptionally well, and that’s exactly what you get here. The fact that they have so many repeat guests tells you everything — people come back because it works. The location gives you easy access to central London without the chaos and inflated prices of staying in Zone 1. The staff genuinely seems to care about your stay rather than just going through the motions. It’s the kind of place where you feel like a guest rather than just another booking, and in a city like London, that’s worth quite a bit.
London hotels keep guests close to gallery quarters, Michelin markets, and tube connections.

Reviews of Best Western Swiss Cottage Hotel
Young from South Korea (8/10)
Located in the very front of Swiss Cottage Underground station (Jubilee Line), so convenient to connect everywhere famous in London.
Every staff was kind, and the cleaning service was perfect.
As a foreigner, I had a sort of fantasy about the 'English breakfast', but the fantasy was just a fantasy.
I think it's very difficult to find a hotel like this with good price and quality in London.Louise from Australia (8/10)
location is fantastic…easy to get anywhere. A quick shop down the street is easy as well as walking amongst the beautiful houses. Quiet location is wonderful.
Patrick from Czech Republic (8/10)
Good location close to Swiss Cottage tube station and Finchley Road shops and restaurants. Excellent cooked English breakfast. Most hotels serve very anaemic pinkish bacon, but this was cooked to perfection – well done but not crispy.
Martin from Australia (9/10)
