The room I stayed in was compact but thoughtfully laid out — exactly what you’d expect from a well-run London property that knows how to make the most of limited space. Everything worked properly, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case. The bed was comfortable enough for a good night’s sleep, and the bathroom, while small, had decent water pressure and stayed warm. I particularly liked that they’d managed to fit in a proper workspace area, which came in handy for catching up on emails.

The staff knows the neighborhood inside and out — they gave me restaurant recommendations that were spot-on and helped sort out directions to places that would’ve taken me ages to find on my own. There’s no restaurant on-site, but honestly, with Borough Market and all the local options around, you don’t really need one.
