You know what surprised me most about this Chelsea spot? It actually lives up to that “10 minutes to Harrods” promise in the name – I mean, I’m naturally skeptical of these distance claims, but I timed it. Eight minutes at a normal walking pace down Sloane Avenue, and you’re staring at those famous green awnings. The location is honestly fantastic if you want to be in the thick of things without dealing with the tourist chaos of somewhere like Covent Garden.
The flat itself is more spacious than you’d expect for London – proper air conditioning too, which is still surprisingly rare here and absolutely worth its weight in gold during those sticky summer weeks. The gym situation is decent, nothing fancy but it has what you need if you’re trying to work off all those Borough Market pastries (speaking from experience). What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night, even though you’re right in Chelsea. The building seems well-insulated, and Sloane Avenue doesn’t get the late-night foot traffic that some of the busier streets around Sloane Square do. Check-in was straightforward – they actually answer their phones, which is more than I can say for some places I’ve stayed.
Here’s the thing though – this isn’t going to blow you away with luxury touches, and the 7.7 rating feels about right. It’s solid, well-maintained, does exactly what it promises. The kitchen is properly equipped if you want to grab groceries from the Waitrose on King’s Road (about a five-minute walk), and honestly, with restaurant prices in this area, you might want to. You’re also walking distance to some brilliant pubs – the Admiral Codrington just around the corner does a mean Sunday roast if you time it right. The Royal Court Theatre is practically next door if you’re into that scene. What really sells it for me is the neighborhood feel – you’ll see the same dog walkers on the tree-lined streets, there’s a proper local coffee shop that knows their regulars, and it just feels authentically Chelsea rather than some sanitized hotel zone. For a four-star place in this part of London, it punches above its weight, especially if you value location and that air con over flashy amenities you probably won’t use anyway.
