It’s actually quiet at night – and I mean properly quiet, which is honestly a miracle considering you’re literally in the heart of one of London’s most buzzing neighborhoods. The place sits on Theobalds Road, which sounds fancy but it’s basically this perfect sweet spot where you get all the Camden energy without the 3am drunk people stumbling past your window.

I’ve stayed in a lot of London flats over the years, and this one just works. The space genuinely sleeps six people comfortably – not in that “well, someone can sleep on the couch” way that most places mean when they say six. The bedrooms are properly sized, and there’s this lived-in feeling that makes you settle in immediately rather than feeling like you’re camping in someone’s showroom. The kitchen actually has everything you need (sharp knives! can you believe it?), which matters more than you’d think when you’re trying to make breakfast for six people who all want different things. And honestly, after paying London restaurant prices for a few days, you’ll be grateful for a place where you can cook a proper meal.

But here’s the real kicker – the location is absolutely spot-on for actually experiencing London like a person, not a tourist. You’re a five-minute walk from Russell Square tube station, which gets you anywhere in the city without the nightmare of changing lines constantly. Lamb’s Conduit Street is right there with these brilliant little independent shops and cafes that locals actually use (try the coffee at Store Street Espresso – just trust me on this one). The British Museum is close enough that you can pop over for an hour without making it this whole big expedition, and Covent Garden is an easy stroll when you want the touristy stuff. What I really love though is that you’re walking distance to both the chaos of Camden Market and the calm of the gorgeous garden squares in Bloomsbury – so depending on your mood, you can have completely different London experiences.

The whole area comes alive in this brilliant way during the day. You’ve got the university crowd from UCL mixing with the market vendors and the publishing people (loads of publishers have offices around here), so there’s this constant buzz of actual Londoners doing their thing. Plus – and this might sound small but it matters – there are proper grocery stores within walking distance, not just overpriced corner shops. The owners clearly know the neighborhood well because everything about the flat’s setup shows they understand what visitors actually need. Check-in was smooth, communication was spot-on, and they even left decent coffee and tea, which is such a small thing that makes a huge difference when you’re jet-lagged and everything feels overwhelming.
