DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel London – Marble Arch Overview

First Impressions

Walking into the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel London – Marble Arch, you’re immediately struck by how they’ve managed to create this warm, welcoming atmosphere right in the middle of one of London’s busiest areas. The lobby has that classic British elegance without feeling stuffy — and yes, you do get those famous warm chocolate chip cookies at check-in, which honestly never gets old. It’s a four-star property that knows exactly what it is, and there’s something refreshing about that confidence.

Location That Actually Matters

Here’s the thing about staying near Marble Arch — you’re literally at the corner of Hyde Park, which means morning jogs or evening strolls are right there waiting for you. Oxford Street is a two-minute walk if shopping’s your thing, but what I really love is how easy it is to escape the crowds. You can duck into the park when the city gets overwhelming, or hop on the Tube at Marble Arch station and be anywhere in central London within minutes. The couples who rate this location so highly (apparently 9.2 out of 10) aren’t wrong — there’s something romantic about having Hyde Park as your backyard.

The Room Experience

The rooms here are what I’d call “London practical” — they’re not huge, but they’re thoughtfully designed to make the most of every square foot. Each room has those floor-to-ceiling windows that actually open (a rarity in many hotels), and if you’re lucky enough to get a park view, well, you’ll understand why people keep coming back. The beds are genuinely comfortable, and the bathrooms are modern without trying too hard to be trendy. You know what really impressed me? The blackout curtains actually work, which is crucial when you’re dealing with jet lag.

Breakfast Worth Waking Up For

The breakfast setup here is honestly one of the better hotel spreads I’ve encountered in London. They’ve got the full English breakfast down to an art form, but they also cater to pretty much every dietary need you can think of — gluten-free, halal, continental options, even grab-and-go if you’re rushing to catch a morning flight. The restaurant area gets busy around 8 AM, so if you’re not a morning person, either go early or embrace the chaos. The coffee’s actually decent too, which isn’t always a given at hotel breakfast buffets.

Why Guests Love It

What keeps people coming back to this place isn’t any single standout feature — it’s how everything just works together. The staff genuinely seem to care about making your stay smooth, the location means you can walk to most major attractions, and there’s reliable parking available if you’re brave enough to drive in central London. It’s the kind of hotel where business travelers feel comfortable during the week, but families don’t feel out of place on weekends. Sometimes the best recommendation is simply this: I’d stay here again, and I’d recommend it to friends visiting London for the first time.

The hotel is situated in a perfect location with 3 mins walk to the Marble Arch station, 2 mins walk to Oxford streets and +/-10mins to Edgware street. In front of the hotel, there is a coffee shop (Costa) and there a lot of restaurants around the area. The staff at the reception, the concierge guys and every one is very helpful & they assist us with our luggage. 100% Good Staffing & service!

  • Amber from United Kingdom (8/10)

The doormen were both really lovely. We really appreciated being able to drop our bags off early and collect just before we went home. Location fabulous and meant we could pop out to Edgware Road for dinner and then my teen could fit in even more shopping before we went back to the hotel as shops were open until 9 or 10pm.
Loved that there was a bath and the Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries meant our light packing worked out well (shampoo, separate conditioner and body lotion).
