Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about Exclusive Apartments South Kensington? The building itself – it’s one of those gorgeous Victorian terraces that lines Harrington Gardens, and honestly, walking up to number 51A feels like you’re about to visit someone’s very posh London flat rather than check into a hotel. Which, I suppose, is exactly the point.

The location is pretty brilliant if you know South Ken at all. You’re literally a three-minute walk from Gloucester Road tube station – I mean, you can see the entrance from some of the upper floor windows – and the whole museum district is right there. The Natural History Museum’s iconic towers are visible from the street, and you can actually cut through the quiet residential streets to reach Exhibition Road instead of fighting the crowds on the main thoroughfares. What I really appreciated was how the neighborhood goes proper quiet after about 9 PM, even though you’re so central. These garden squares have this insulated feeling, like the city noise just… stops at the edges.

The apartments themselves feel lived-in in the best way possible – there’s actual character here, not that sterile hotel minimalism you get everywhere else. My flat had these tall ceilings with original moldings (slightly wonky in places, which I found charming), and the kitchen was properly equipped. I’m talking real mugs, not those tiny hotel cups, and a fridge big enough to actually store groceries from the Waitrose around the corner on Gloucester Road. The furnishings are a mix of modern comfort and classic touches – think contemporary sofas but with traditional wooden furniture that feels substantial. Honestly, the whole setup made me consider what it would be like to actually live in London for a while, which is sort of the ultimate compliment for a serviced apartment, isn’t it?

The staff runs a pretty relaxed operation – check-in was smooth, and they seem to understand that people staying here want the independence of an apartment with just enough service to feel looked after. There’s daily housekeeping if you want it, but they’re also happy to leave you completely alone. The building’s security is solid (you need a key for everything), and I felt comfortable leaving my laptop out, which says something. One small thing – the street can get a bit echoey when the pubs let out on weekends, but honestly, that’s just London for you, and it never felt disruptive, more like authentic city soundtrack.

What really sells this place is how it lets you live like a Londoner rather than just visit. You’ll find yourself popping out to Tesco Express for breakfast supplies, grabbing coffee from the little café on Harrington Road, maybe even recognizing the same dog walkers in the morning. It’s that rare combination of proper local immersion with enough comfort and service that you never feel like you’re roughing it. For the price point and that 8.5 rating – yeah, I get it completely.
