Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about this place? The name’s actually perfect – you really can see the London Eye from the windows, and honestly, the view never gets old. I mean, I’ve stayed in plenty of London flats where “central” is a stretch, but this Saint George Wharf location is the real deal. You’re literally a stone’s throw from Vauxhall station, which – if you know London transport – means you can get pretty much anywhere without the usual Tube drama.
The flat itself feels like someone actually lives there, not like those sterile corporate rentals you usually get. It’s in one of those modern riverside developments that popped up along the Thames, so everything’s relatively new and well-maintained. The kitchen’s properly equipped (I actually cooked breakfast there, which says something), and the living space is generous enough that you’re not tripping over your luggage every five minutes. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays despite being so central – the building’s well-insulated, and Saint George Wharf isn’t one of those roads with constant traffic. Though I’ll be honest, weekend evenings can get a bit lively with people heading to the bars along the river, but nothing too crazy.
The whole Vauxhall area has really grown on me over the years. It’s got this interesting mix – you’ve got the business crowd during the day, then it transforms into something more relaxed by evening. There’s a Tesco Express right around the corner (trust me, this matters when you’re staying somewhere with a proper kitchen), and if you walk five minutes toward the river, you hit this lovely stretch along the Thames Path. I actually ended up walking to Westminster most mornings – takes about twenty minutes along the water, and you pass the MI6 building, which still feels a bit surreal. The 8.4 rating makes total sense to me; it’s not trying to be the Ritz, but for what it is – a well-located, comfortable base for exploring London – it delivers exactly what you’d want. Plus, and this is key for London, the value actually feels reasonable for what you’re getting and where you are.
