Marble Arch Suite 8-Hosted by Sweetstay

You know what caught me off guard about this place? It’s tucked away on Connaught Street in a way that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something the tour groups haven’t found yet. I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from Marble Arch – I could hear the distant hum of Oxford Street when I opened the windows – but the moment you turn onto this street, everything just… settles down.

The flat itself is on the eighth floor, and honestly, that means you’re getting some pretty decent views without the tourist-trap pricing of the big hotels nearby. Sweetstay has clearly put some thought into the space – the marble touches aren’t just in the name, there’s actual quality stonework in the bathroom that surprised me. What I really appreciated though was how they’ve managed to make it feel like an actual London apartment rather than some sterile hotel room. The kitchen is properly equipped (not just a kettle and some sad instant coffee), which matters when you’re staying more than a night or two and want to grab groceries from the Marks & Spencer just around the corner on Edgware Road.

Here’s the thing about this location that most people don’t realize until they’re here – you’re basically positioned at this perfect intersection where Tyburnia meets Marylebone. Walk five minutes east and you’re in the chaos of Oxford Street shopping, but head west toward Little Venice and you’ll find yourself on these quiet tree-lined streets that feel like a completely different city. I actually ended up walking to Paddington Station several times instead of taking the tube because the route takes you past some gorgeous Georgian terraces that you’d never see otherwise. The 8.4 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be the Ritz, but it absolutely delivers on being a comfortable, well-located base for exploring London. The building itself is solid Victorian stock, so you’re not dealing with paper-thin walls, though you will hear the occasional footsteps from upstairs (just keeping it real). Check-in was smooth, parking… well, this is central London, so good luck with that, but the Lancaster Gate tube station is close enough that you really don’t need a car anyway.
