Here’s what I love about this spot in London — you’re right in the City but not drowning in the financial district chaos. Finsbury Square itself is this lovely little oasis where locals actually walk their dogs and office workers grab lunch on benches. You can walk to Liverpool Street in about eight minutes (I’ve timed it), and honestly, the transport links are brilliant from there. Old Street tube is even closer, and that whole area around there has become quite buzzy with all the tech companies and trendy spots.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was genuinely impressive — and I mean that in the best way possible. Those beds everyone raves about? They’re not exaggerating. I’m usually a light sleeper, but something about the combination of quality linens and whatever magic they’ve worked with the mattresses just works. The design feels contemporary but warm, not like you’re sleeping in a showroom. There’s proper space to spread out too, which you don’t always get in London hotels, even the expensive ones.

Breakfast & Dining

The breakfast setup here is actually quite thoughtful — they do both continental and buffet options, so you’re not stuck with just pastries if you want something more substantial. What struck me was the quality of the coffee (proper espresso, not hotel filter coffee) and how they manage to keep everything fresh even during busy morning periods. The restaurant area has this nice buzz without being overwhelming, and the staff seem to genuinely know what they’re doing rather than just going through the motions.

Why Guests Love It

You know what really tells the story here? The number of repeat guests. There’s something to be said for a place that people actually choose to come back to rather than just booking once for the novelty. Couples particularly seem drawn to it — probably because of that perfect balance between being central enough to explore easily but tucked away enough to feel like you’ve got your own little corner of London. The whole Finsbury Square location gives you that authentic London neighborhood feeling while still having everything you need within walking distance. It’s the kind of place where luxury feels effortless rather than forced, which honestly makes all the difference when you’re trying to enjoy a proper London experience.

  Great hotel, the staff were really pleasant at all times. We were told they had got a lot of new staff recently. They were very helpful with baggage’s when we arrived, though after we waited a while for our bags I went to reception to see long they would be and our bags were infront of the desk at reception. And no one knew who they belonged to. We were offered water, minced pies and mulled wine on arrival while we waited for our room to be ready. Which was ready on time. We were asked if we would like Prosecco on the house to our room, we said why not if coarse. This never arrived, and when our bags came to the room we mentioned this and the butler and he said ok I will chase this up with his team but we never heard back. Apparently our room was upgraded. Not sure what from and too but no complaints about the room, very clean. We asked for some milk at the bar for our baby and that was no problem which was great. We had a really good time and feel the staff were very pleasant at all times. Very good for the money. I think the doorman was called Dennis very nice man, friendly 10/10 over all we had a great time. We had an evening meal at the Aviary in the winter igloo which was fantastic and had a great view. The food was fantastic and we also had breakfast up there the next morning which was very good. Definitely worth the money.
