NOX West Hampstead Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to NOX West Hampstead on West End Lane, you immediately get the sense this isn’t your typical chain hotel. The building has this understated charm that feels distinctly London — not flashy, but there’s something reassuring about its presence on this busy stretch. I mean, you’re right in the heart of West Hampstead, which honestly took me by surprise with how vibrant it feels. This three-star spot manages to feel both modern and welcoming without trying too hard, if that makes sense.
The Neighborhood Advantage
Here’s what I love about this location — you’re actually in a proper London neighborhood, not some touristy bubble. West Hampstead has this great mix of locals grabbing coffee, decent pubs, and that authentic London energy you don’t always find near the big attractions. The tube station is literally a few minutes’ walk, which means you can be in central London in about 20 minutes, but you get to come back to somewhere that feels real. There’s a Waitrose nearby (always a good sign), and the whole area has this lived-in quality that I find way more interesting than staying right in Zone 1.
The Room Experience
The room itself surprised me — it’s compact but thoughtfully designed, which is exactly what you want in London where space is premium. Everything feels fresh and well-maintained, and honestly, the bed was more comfortable than I expected for a three-star place. The bathroom is small but functional, and there’s decent storage space for your stuff. You know what really stood out? The attention to details like good lighting and actually usable desk space — small things that make a difference when you’re settling in for a few days.
Daily Rhythms
Mornings here feel relaxed in a way that’s hard to find in busier parts of London. The restaurant serves a solid breakfast that sets you up properly for the day — nothing fancy, but everything you need and done well. I actually found myself looking forward to coming back in the evenings, which says something about the atmosphere they’ve created. The staff genuinely seem to care about making your stay work, and there’s this sense that they remember you after the first day or two.
Why Guests Love It
What really makes sense about this place is how it balances everything — you get proper London neighborhood life without sacrificing convenience, comfort without the premium price tag, and service that feels personal rather than corporate. The fact that so many people come back here tells you something important about how it actually works in practice. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in London, but it delivers on the things that matter most when you’re exploring the city and need a reliable base that feels like more than just a place to sleep.

Clean quiet room, even with mini kitchen. I liked it. And would stay again.
The only thing that it’s not a problem but I was surprised as I didn’t realize it when I was booking – this is not a hotel, more like an apartments block, so there is no lobby area. Usually it’s not needed, but this time I scheduled a work meeting in the lobby as from the description I assumed it was a hotel. The receptionist suggested us a very nice cafe to go instead, all worked well! Writing this just so that other potential guests know, in case it’s relevant for them.
The street has lots of cafe options
