The Paddington Basin area has totally transformed in recent years too, so you’ve got some decent restaurants and cafes within a five-minute stroll. And honestly, being this close to Paddington Station is a game-changer if you’re doing any day trips – the Heathrow Express, trains to Bath, Oxford, the Cotswolds, everything just becomes so much easier. The only real downside I’d mention is that it’s not the cheapest area for grabbing a quick bite (welcome to Zone 1 London), and the hotel itself doesn’t have a restaurant, just a small breakfast room. But there’s a Tesco Express basically next door, and some proper good gastropubs tucked away on the side streets if you know where to look. For a solid 4-star spot that gives you that “living in London” feel without the tourist trap chaos, it’s honestly pretty hard to beat.
