Picton apartment

So I stayed at this Picton apartment last month, and honestly? It’s one of those places that makes you feel like you’ve got some secret insider knowledge about London. The building sits right on Picton Place – which is basically this quiet little street that most tourists walk right past without noticing, even though you’re literally a three-minute walk from Oxford Circus. I mean, the chaos of Oxford Street feels like a different world when you’re tucked away here.

The apartment itself has that proper London residential feel, you know? Not some sterile hotel chain situation, but actually living in Westminster Borough like a local for a few days. The 4-star rating feels about right – it’s comfortable and well-maintained without being flashy about it. What really got me was stepping out in the morning and realizing I could grab coffee from that little place on Marylebone High Street (the one with the blue awning, locals will know), then be at Regent’s Park in under ten minutes if I wanted some green space. The area gets surprisingly quiet at night too, which is rare for central London – though you’ll still hear the occasional late-night reveler wandering back from the West End.

Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, and the space actually feels like someone’s well-appointed London flat rather than a rental that’s been stripped of personality. The windows face the right direction to catch decent morning light, and there’s something satisfying about making your own breakfast while people are queuing at tourist traps nearby. I will say, if you’re expecting daily housekeeping and a concierge, this isn’t that kind of place – but that’s sort of the point. You get the independence of apartment living with the backup of professional management when you need it. The 8/10 rating from other guests makes sense; it delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense. Honestly, I’d book it again – especially during the shoulder seasons when the whole neighborhood feels a bit more like it belongs to the people who actually live and work here rather than just passing through.
