Point A Hotel London Canary Wharf Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Point A Hotel London Canary Wharf, you immediately get that modern, no-nonsense vibe that actually works really well in this part of London. It’s a three-star property that knows exactly what it is — clean, efficient, and smartly designed without trying to be something it’s not. The lobby has this sleek, minimalist feel that somehow manages to be welcoming rather than sterile, which honestly surprised me a bit. The hotel’s straightforward approach to hospitality makes it an excellent choice for travelers seeking practical comfort.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s the thing about Canary Wharf — it gets a bad rap for being all business and no soul, but this hotel’s position on Hertsmere Road West is actually brilliant. You’re right in the heart of the financial district, sure, but you know what? That means incredible transport links and some genuinely good restaurants within walking distance. The couples who stay here clearly get it — they’ve rated the location 9.0, and I can see why. The DLR station is practically next door, and you can be in central London faster than you’d think. The neighborhood offers excellent connectivity and vibrant dining options that enhance the overall guest experience.

The Room Experience

The room design is where Point A really shows its smart thinking. Everything feels purposeful — the bed is comfortable (not amazing, but solid), and they’ve managed to fit in everything you actually need without making the space feel cramped. The bathroom is compact but well-designed, and honestly, the shower pressure is better than some four-star places I’ve stayed. The windows are properly soundproofed too, which matters when you’re surrounded by all that Canary Wharf construction. Each apartment-style unit maximizes functionality and comfort for extended stays.

Breakfast & Dining

The breakfast setup here is actually pretty impressive for a three-star hotel. They’ve got continental options, but what caught my attention was how well they handle dietary requirements — vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free options that don’t feel like afterthoughts. The buffet isn’t huge, but everything’s fresh, and if you’re rushing to catch the DLR, the breakfast-to-go option is genuinely useful. I mean, how many hotels actually make that work properly? The dining experience reflects the hotel’s commitment to guest satisfaction and accessibility.

Why Guests Love It

There’s something to be said for a hotel that gets repeat customers, and Point A definitely has that going for it — more than most properties in this category, apparently. I think it’s because they’ve figured out what business travelers and couples actually want rather than what they think they should want. The location rating speaks for itself, but it’s the little things that make the difference — reliable wifi, parking that doesn’t cost a fortune, and staff who know the area well enough to give you proper directions. It’s not trying to be fancy, but it delivers on the basics so well that you end up impressed despite yourself. The kitchen facilities available in select units add further value for longer-term guests seeking independence and convenience.

  • Andželika from Lithuania (9/10)

Super friendly and caring staff in the registration office. The room was a little bit small, but it wasn’t an issue. Bed was comfy, sheets clean. Everything in the room was very clean and it had everything we needed for our short stay. Hotel location is great, many restaurants and bars around the corner, big shopping mall in the area. Train station is not too far away also. Easy to reach the center of the city. The street js calm though, no noises. Feels safe to be in this area. Thank you. We recommend this hotel for people who don’t require a lot of space, but want a clean and quiet place to stay at.
