Point A Kensington Olympia Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Point A Kensington Olympia on West Cromwell Road, you immediately get that “this is proper London” feeling. It’s one of those three-star hotels that doesn’t try to be something it’s not — clean, modern, and refreshingly straightforward. The lobby has this sleek, minimalist vibe that actually works really well, and honestly, the staff seem genuinely happy to help rather than just going through the motions. The entrance welcomes you with contemporary design choices that set the tone for your stay.

Location That Actually Matters

Here’s the thing about staying in London — location can make or break your trip, and this place absolutely nails it. You’re right in Kensington, which means you can walk to some seriously impressive spots without dealing with the Tube every single time. The Natural History Museum is literally a ten-minute stroll, and if you’re into shopping (or just people-watching), you’re close enough to both Earl’s Court and the fancier bits of Kensington without the eye-watering prices of staying right on the high street. I mean, couples seem to really get this — they’ve rated the location 8.7, and I totally understand why. The neighborhood offers excellent access to cultural attractions and retail destinations.

The Room Experience

The room design is what I’d call “smart small” — they’ve clearly thought about how to make compact spaces work without feeling cramped. Everything has its place, the bed is actually comfortable (not always a given in London), and the shower has proper water pressure. You know what I really appreciated? The windows are well-insulated, so you’re not dealing with constant traffic noise from Cromwell Road, which can be pretty busy during the day. Each room maximizes functionality while maintaining comfort and style.

Breakfast Worth Getting Up For

The breakfast setup here surprised me in the best way. They’ve got this buffet spread that covers pretty much everyone — continental basics, but also proper vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options that don’t feel like afterthoughts. It’s not fancy, but it’s fresh and there’s enough variety that you won’t get bored if you’re staying multiple nights. Plus, the coffee is actually decent, which honestly makes such a difference when you’re gearing up for a day of London walking. The morning meal sets a positive tone for exploring the city.

Why Guests Love It

What really works about Point A Kensington Olympia is that it gets the fundamentals right without any unnecessary fuss. You’re paying for a solid base in an excellent part of London, not for marble bathrooms or a concierge in a top hat. The 7.8 rating feels spot-on — it’s the kind of place where everything just works as it should. Whether you’re here for museums, shopping, or just soaking up the Kensington atmosphere, you’ll spend your time exploring rather than dealing with hotel hassles, and that’s exactly what you want from a London stay.

The staff at the hotel are so welcoming and gave us great recommendations of what to do/see in the area. There is an environmental consciousness that the hotel focuses on which is great to see.
The hotel is so conveniently located near Earls Court station so it was quick and easy access to pubs, restaurants and cafes which was great to either start to end the day in the area.

Good to have youtube app on the television which most of UK hotels don’t have.
