Rushmore Hotel Overview

First Impressions

The Rushmore Hotel sits on a quiet residential street in Earl’s Court, and honestly, you might walk past it if you’re not paying attention. It’s one of those classic Victorian townhouse conversions that London does so well — white stucco facade, black railings, the whole bit. I mean, it’s not going to wow you from the outside, but that’s sort of the point. This three-star property feels more like staying in a well-maintained London home than a flashy hotel, which actually works in its favor.

The Neighborhood Advantage

Here’s what I love about Trebovir Road — you’re genuinely in residential Kensington, not some tourist trap area. The location score of 9.2 isn’t just marketing fluff; you can walk to South Kensington tube station in about eight minutes, which puts you three stops from Harrods and four from the Natural History Museum. Earl’s Court station is even closer if you need the District line. There’s a Tesco Express around the corner for snacks, and honestly, some of the best curry houses in London are within a ten-minute walk. Couples seem to get this — they’ve rated the location 9.4, and I can see why.

The Room Experience

My room was on the second floor, and while it wasn’t huge, it had that cozy London feel with period features still intact. The bathroom was compact but functional — you know, typical London hotel size where you’re not bumping into walls but you’re not doing yoga in there either. What surprised me was how quiet it was, considering you’re still in central London. The windows actually block out most of the street noise, which is something you don’t always get in this price range.

Practical Perks

One thing that sets Rushmore apart is the private parking — and if you’ve ever tried to park in Kensington, you’ll know this is basically like finding gold. Most hotels in this area either don’t have parking or charge you £30+ per night for it. The staff mentioned it’s limited spaces, so you’d want to book ahead, but still. The front desk team was genuinely helpful too, not just going through the motions. They gave me actual restaurant recommendations (not just the touristy places) and helped sort out some tube strike confusion during my stay.

Why Guests Love It

Look, the Rushmore isn’t trying to be the Ritz, and that’s exactly why it works. You’re paying for an excellent location, decent rooms, and that rare thing in London hotels — genuine value for money. The 7.1 rating feels about right; it’s not perfect, but it delivers on what matters most when you’re exploring the city. You’ll spend most of your time out and about anyway, so having a comfortable base that doesn’t break the bank in one of London’s best neighborhoods? That’s actually pretty smart. Plus, when couples are rating the location nearly 10 out of 10, you know you’re onto something good.

Best hotels in London blend skyline conservatories, afternoon teas, and spa suites scented with English botanicals.
