Sidney Hotel London-Victoria Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to the Sidney Hotel London-Victoria on Belgrave Road, you immediately get that classic London townhouse vibe — you know, the kind where Victorian terraces have been thoughtfully converted into something welcoming for travelers. It’s a three-star property, but honestly, the location does most of the heavy lifting here. The entrance feels warm rather than grand, which I actually prefer when I’m dragging luggage after a long flight.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s the thing about staying in Victoria — you’re basically in the sweet spot of central London without paying Mayfair prices. The hotel sits right in the heart of everything, and I mean everything is walkable from here. Buckingham Palace is literally a five-minute stroll, and you can reach Westminster Abbey in about ten minutes on foot. What I love most is how easy it is to get around — Victoria Station is so close you can practically roll your suitcase there, which means the Gatwick Express, the Underground, and buses to everywhere else are right at your doorstep.
The Room Experience
The room experience is what you’d expect from a well-maintained London hotel in this category — compact but thoughtfully designed. I mean, this is London, so don’t expect sprawling spaces, but everything you need is there. The beds are comfortable enough, and the en-suite bathrooms are clean and functional. What struck me most was how quiet it stays despite being on such a busy road — the windows do a decent job of keeping the city noise at bay, which is crucial when you’re trying to recover from jet lag.
Practical Considerations
One thing that really works in the hotel’s favor is how the staff genuinely seems to know the area well. They’re not just handing you generic tourist maps — they’ll actually tell you which pub around the corner serves the best fish and chips, or which route to take to avoid the crowds at Westminster. The restaurant situation is pretty straightforward with a continental breakfast that gets the job done, though honestly, with so many great cafes and eateries within walking distance, you’ll probably want to explore the neighborhood anyway.
Why Guests Love It
Look, couples absolutely rave about this place, and after staying here, I totally get why they rate the location so highly. There’s something romantic about being able to walk hand-in-hand to see Big Ben lit up at night, then pop into a cozy pub for a pint before heading back. The hotel strikes that perfect balance between being central enough to make the most of your London time, but tucked away enough on Belgrave Road that it feels like you’ve found a proper local spot rather than just another tourist trap. For the price point and location, it’s honestly hard to beat — especially if you’re the type who’d rather spend money on experiences around the city than on hotel amenities you probably won’t use anyway.
Savvy travelers reserve a hotel in London before Chelsea Flower Show turns squares into pop-up gardens.

Reviews of Sidney Hotel London-Victoria
Kimberly from Italy (8/10)
Excellent value and prime location. Victoria station so close got us easily to/from Gatwick. Easy access to airport and heart of the city. Breakfast included was an additional bonus. Hop on/off stops at Victoria made touristy things easy to access. Comfortable beds, good water pressure, a private bathroom is a luxury in London. We definitely enjoyed the stay.
