Hotel Description
You know what really struck me about Soho Suites by Indigo Flats? It’s tucked away on this little street called Ingestre Place that most tourists walk right past – which is honestly perfect because you get all the Soho energy without the constant chaos outside your window. I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from Oxford Street’s madness, but the location feels almost residential in comparison. The building itself has this understated entrance that I actually walked past twice on my first visit (classic me), but once you’re inside, the lobby has this modern boutique feel that doesn’t try too hard to be trendy.
The suites themselves are what really won me over though. These aren’t your typical cramped London hotel rooms – they’ve actually got proper living spaces with kitchenettes that aren’t just for show. I ended up making coffee there every morning instead of hunting down overpriced Pret shops, and honestly, having that little bit of counter space to spread out my stuff made such a difference. The beds are genuinely comfortable too, which… well, you never know in London until you actually lie down. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night – Soho can get pretty rowdy, especially on weekends, but something about being on that side street keeps most of the noise at bay. You’ll hear the occasional group heading home from Ronnie Scott’s or wherever, but it’s not the kind of thing that’ll wake you up.
The staff actually knows the neighborhood, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how rare that is. When I asked about getting to Camden Market, the guy at the front desk didn’t just point me toward the tube – he mentioned the weekend crowds and suggested a specific time to go. Little things like that. The area itself is fantastic if you want to feel like you’re staying somewhere with character. Dean Street’s right there with all those tiny pubs that look like they haven’t changed since the 1800s, and you’ve got Chinatown practically around the corner for when you inevitably want late-night dumplings. I will say the check-in process was a bit slower than expected – they seem to really walk you through everything about the room setup, which is thorough but maybe plan for an extra ten minutes if you’re in a rush. Overall though, it’s one of those places that just gets the balance right between being well-located and actually livable, which in central London is honestly harder to find than you’d think.
