But here’s the thing – once you’re inside this flat, it feels way more spacious and lived-in than you’d expect from the narrow frontage. The two bedrooms are actually proper bedrooms (not those cramped London “doubles” where you can barely squeeze around the bed), and the whole place has this comfortable, unfussy vibe that makes you want to kick off your shoes and stay awhile.

The real winner though is that patio – I mean, outdoor space in this part of London? Come on. It’s not huge, but it’s private and gets decent afternoon sun, which is basically gold dust when you’re this close to Hyde Park. Speaking of which, you’re literally a three-minute walk from the park entrance near the Albert Memorial, and if you cut through the park in the morning, you can be at Kensington Palace or the Diana Memorial in no time. The Natural History Museum is right there too – close enough that you can pop back to the flat if the kids get cranky or you need to dump shopping bags. Actually, that whole museum district becomes your backyard, which is pretty incredible when you think about it.

What I really appreciated was how quiet Elvaston Place stays despite being so central. Sure, you’ll hear the occasional taxi or delivery truck, but it’s nothing like staying near the main drags. The flat itself feels properly soundproofed – I could barely hear my upstairs neighbors, which in London rental terms is basically a miracle. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward (none of that running around trying to find a key lockbox), and the place was genuinely clean, not just surface-clean. Look, the 7.3 rating tells you it’s not perfect – the kitchen could use some updating and the wifi was a bit patchy in the back bedroom – but honestly, for the location and the amount of space you get, it delivers where it counts. If you’re planning to actually spend time in the flat rather than just crash between tourist activities, this place gets the balance right.
