The Berkeley, Maybourne Hotel Collection Overview
First Impressions
Walking into The Berkeley, Maybourne Hotel Collection feels like stepping into someone’s incredibly sophisticated private residence — if that someone happened to have impeccable taste and unlimited resources. This five-star property sits right on Wilton Place in Knightsbridge, and honestly, you can’t get much more central than this without actually living inside Harrods. The lobby strikes that perfect balance between grand and welcoming, with staff who seem genuinely pleased to see you rather than just going through the motions.
Prime Knightsbridge Location
The location here is absolutely stellar — I mean, couples rate it 9.4 out of 10, and after spending time in the area, I completely understand why. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Harvey Nichols and about the same to Hyde Park Corner. What I love is that despite being in the thick of everything, Wilton Place itself feels surprisingly peaceful. You can actually have a conversation on the street without shouting over traffic, which is rare for central London. The tube connections are fantastic too — Hyde Park Corner station puts you anywhere in the city within minutes.
Luxurious Accommodations
The room I stayed in was everything you’d expect from a luxury London hotel, but with thoughtful touches that set it apart. Those beds everyone raves about? They’re not exaggerating — I slept better here than I have in months. The linens feel expensive (because they probably are), and there’s something about the mattress firmness that just works. Each room has this understated elegance with contemporary art and furnishings that feel fresh rather than stuffy. The bathrooms deserve a mention too — marble everything, but done in a way that feels warm rather than cold and institutional.
Exceptional Dining Experience
Breakfast here is honestly impressive in its scope. They’ve got everything covered — Italian, Full English, vegetarian, vegan, halal, gluten-free, Asian, American — basically whatever dietary requirements or cravings you might have. The restaurant staff know their stuff too, and they’re happy to customize things if you need something specific. What struck me is how they manage to do quantity without sacrificing quality. Even with all those options, everything tastes fresh and well-prepared rather than like it’s been sitting under heat lamps.
Why Guests Love It
There’s a reason this place has so many repeat guests — more than most other properties, actually. It’s that combination of prime location, genuine luxury, and service that feels personal rather than scripted. The fact that they offer private parking in central London is almost miraculous (and worth its weight in gold if you’re driving). You know what really sells it for me though? It’s how the hotel manages to feel both grand and comfortable. You can dress up for dinner or wander down in jeans, and either way, you’ll fit right in. That’s harder to achieve than it sounds, especially at this level of luxury.

The staff were all excellent, especially the maids who came to attend to the room. The breakfast was exceptionally good. The smoothies the chef made every day were wonderful. The bed was so comfortable, and Extra requests were met. I will definitely be going back again.
