The Landing Hotel Overview

First Impressions

Honestly, The Landing Hotel caught me off guard in the best possible way. You’re driving through the Kent countryside near Westerham, thinking you’re heading to some standard business hotel, and then — well, this place actually has character. The building sits right on Churchill Way in Biggin Hill, and there’s something about the way it’s positioned that feels deliberate, like someone really thought about how guests would experience arriving here. The parking situation is refreshingly straightforward too — free and private, which honestly feels like a small miracle these days.

Location & Setting

Here’s what I love about this spot: you’re technically in the countryside, but London isn’t some impossible journey away. Biggin Hill has this aviation history that you can actually feel when you’re walking around — there’s the famous airfield nearby, and the whole area has this sort of understated significance. Couples seem to get it immediately (they rate the location over 9 out of 10), and I think it’s because there’s something romantic about being tucked away in Kent while still feeling connected to everything. The surrounding area is proper English countryside without being overly quaint, if you know what I mean.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was what I’d call thoughtfully designed — not trying too hard to impress, but clearly someone cared about the details. This is a four-star property, and it shows in ways that actually matter: good lighting, comfortable bed, and a bathroom that doesn’t feel like an afterthought. The windows frame the surrounding landscape nicely, and there’s enough space to spread out without feeling like you’re rattling around in an oversized suite. I mean, sometimes hotels get the basics wrong, but The Landing seems to understand what travelers actually need.

Dining & Atmosphere

The restaurant here surprised me — it’s not trying to be London fancy, but the food is genuinely good. They seem to source locally when it makes sense, and the menu changes enough to keep things interesting if you’re staying more than a night or two. The atmosphere throughout the hotel strikes this nice balance between professional and welcoming. You’ll see business travelers during the week, but it doesn’t feel corporate in that sterile way some places do. Weekend guests tend to be couples exploring the area or people attending events at nearby venues.

Why Guests Love It

What really works about The Landing Hotel is that it doesn’t oversell itself — it just delivers consistently on what it promises. Recent guests keep rating it highly (8.8 overall), and I think that’s because expectations align with reality here. You’re getting solid comfort in a location that feels special without being remote, plus those little conveniences like reliable parking that make travel less stressful. It’s the kind of place where you’d happily return, whether you’re exploring Kent’s countryside, need a peaceful base for London day trips, or just want to escape somewhere that feels genuinely English without all the tourist theater.

Hotel in London reservations climb before fashion weeks when townhouse lobbies fill with designers.

Right next door to JetEx where I parked our jet
Bus stop is less than 200 yards from the hotel
Restaurant upstairs was very good. Noticed that the locals ate there regularly. Rooms were immaculate, the hotel is very well insulated. Did not hear the airport runway traffic at all.
Staff is very polite, friendly and attentive.
Mattress and pillows were very comfortable. I stayed 5 days and will stay there again in October.
