The whole place has been thoughtfully updated without losing its soul, which is honestly harder to pull off than you’d think. There’s free parking right at the hotel too, which is a huge relief when you’re driving through these narrow village streets.

The restaurant downstairs serves proper pub food that’s actually good — and I say that as someone who’s had plenty of disappointing meals in country inns.   Very comfortable night in a smartly presented room with spotlessly clean en-suite shower room. Tea/coffee-making facilities with fresh milk, tv and radio -what more can anyone need? We only wanted a small meal in the evening and the small plates on the menu were exactly what we hoped for. We didn't have the cooked breakfast next morning, but the granola bowl was excellent. Our stay was most enjoyable and we highly recommend The Leicester Arms.

  Loved the character of the place. The room was very comfortable and clean. The staff in both bar and restaurant were first class including the gentleman who kindly gave us four taxi numbers for our wedding trip to Hever Castle. Excellent stay.
