First Impressions

Honestly, The Park Hotel caught me off guard in the best way possible. You know how sometimes you book a three-star place and expect something pretty basic? Well, this isn’t that. Walking up to the building on Park Road, I was struck by how well-maintained everything looked — there’s this understated charm that immediately puts you at ease. The staff actually remembered my name from check-in, which doesn’t happen often at hotels in this price range.

Location & Neighborhood

I mean, Teddington isn’t exactly central London, but that’s actually part of its appeal. You’re tucked away in this lovely residential area that feels genuinely English — tree-lined streets, local pubs, the kind of neighborhood where people walk their dogs and chat with neighbors. The Thames is literally a five-minute walk away, and I spent a good hour just wandering along the river path. What really sold me though was how easy it was to get into central London when I wanted to — the train connections are surprisingly good, and you’ll save a fortune compared to staying in Zone 1.

The Room Experience

My room was on the smaller side, but everything felt thoughtfully arranged. The bed was genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses), and the bathroom had one of those powerful showers that actually wakes you up in the morning. What I appreciated most was the attention to detail — proper blackout curtains, enough outlets near the bed, and a window that opened for fresh air. It’s not fancy, but it’s exactly what you need after a day of exploring London.

Breakfast & Practical Perks

The breakfast situation here is actually impressive — they’ve got the full English sorted, obviously, but also continental options and proper vegetarian choices. I watched them accommodate someone with gluten-free needs without any fuss, which speaks well of the kitchen. The restaurant area gets busy around 8 AM, so I learned to either go early or wait until after 9. Oh, and the free parking is a genuine lifesaver if you’re driving — try finding that anywhere near London without paying through the nose.

Why Guests Love It

There’s something to be said for a place where people keep coming back, and you can tell that’s happening here. The staff mentioned they see a lot of repeat visitors, which makes sense once you’ve stayed a night or two. It’s that sweet spot of being close enough to London for day trips but far enough away that you’re not dealing with tourist crowds and city noise. Couples seem particularly drawn to the area — I can see why, given how peaceful the riverside walks are in the evening. For the price point, you’re getting solid comfort, reliable service, and a genuinely pleasant base for exploring both London and the surrounding countryside.

  Location near bus and rail routes. Very good breakfast offerings. The buzz in the public areas of the hotel always provided a warm welcome and involvement with clientele. Oh, and the cocktails which were superb.

  Great staff. Family room had plantly of space. There was a coffee machine and tea making available. A fully stocked mini bar/fridge should you have wanted it. Bathroom was fully equiped. Bed was really comfortable. The cooked breakfast was lovely. We stayed over as we were booked into one of their DJ nights. The staff and service were fantasitc, the food was delicious and the atmosphere really lovely – thank you.
