Traditional Treasure – 3 Bedroom Home by Hyde Park

Look, I’ve stayed in my fair share of London places, and Traditional Treasure actually caught me off guard – in the best way possible. When you first walk into this three-bedroom spot on Fosbury Mews, it honestly feels more like you’re staying at a well-traveled friend’s place than some sterile rental. The mews itself is one of those cobblestone gems tucked away from the main road chaos, which means you get that quintessential London charm without buses rumbling past your window at 6 AM.

What really sold me was how they’ve managed to keep the period character intact while making everything work for modern life. I mean, the original fireplaces are still there (sadly not functional, but gorgeous to look at), and the floors have that perfect amount of creak that says “historic” without saying “falling apart.” The kitchen is properly equipped too – not just a mini-fridge and a prayer like some places. I actually cooked a full Sunday roast in there, which you know what, felt pretty incredible after weeks of Pret sandwiches. The bedrooms are spacious enough that you’re not playing Tetris with your luggage, and the master bedroom gets this lovely morning light that makes the whole space feel alive.

The location is honestly where this place shines though. You’re literally a three-minute walk to Hyde Park – I timed it because I’m that person – which means morning jogs without the hassle of tube rides. Paddington Station is close enough for easy airport connections, but far enough that you’re not dealing with tourist crowds dragging suitcases down your street. There’s this brilliant little cafe called Granger & Co. just around the corner that does proper Australian-style brunch (the ricotta hotcakes are dangerous), and if you walk ten minutes toward Notting Hill, you hit Portobello Road with all its weekend market madness. Parking was surprisingly manageable too – there’s resident permit parking on the street, and I never had to circle more than once to find a spot. The only minor thing I’d mention is that the WiFi can get a bit temperamental during peak hours, but honestly, when you’re this close to Hyde Park and everything else London has to offer, being slightly disconnected isn’t the worst thing in the world.
